first off, let me start out by saying i love road treasures...
i have found some very useful, cool and obscure stuff along the side of the roads... some friends and I used to have contests on long road trips, to see who had the coolest find... i think this has got to be one of the coolest and most obscure by far.....
yesterday afternoon, i dropped my son off at school and then started on my way to visit a sick friend... as soon as i pulled out into center lane to wait my turn, i immediately noticed something in the road.. as soon as it was clear, i pulled right off the road, got out and started jog back down to where i came from... there were no cars coming so i ran out into the center lane and just as i thought it was...
it was a nice big ol' cleaver...
(it wasn't terribly dirty
) i quickly swooped it up and walked back to my car.. i wrapped it up in and proceeded on my way...
i didn't get a chance to inspect it until i got back home... it appears to be pretty old... the wood handle slabs are there, but are in poor shape... the blade definitely needs to cleaned and sharpened... it is German made and has a few stamps on it... i have always loved these old cleavers and have drooled over many pics of them here on the WSS, in the past..it'll make a cool project and will probably clean up nicely...
cheers... mike
