NOT FAir Jerry !

What about Easton??
:D

Thats been neither confirmed or denied... For all we know, Jerry was drunk posting again, and he meant to say "Busse Combat Is Comin' To EAT TOAST"... not East Coast. :D But that would be cool.

Not fair? I'm waiting for my government subsidized "INFI Care Program". Free INFI, now that would be fair!:p

Show prices at shows only, is fair. What's unfair is the lack of East Coast shows. :(

Is not Blade on the east coast ? :D

It is a lot more east coast than Arizona? :)

I grew up in PA - people up there don't consider "southeast" to be the "east coast". They think they hold a monopoly on the word "east"....

Yankees.... :D :D :D

You call wanting the best knife in the world, along with all the cool colors
whining ????????

Did somebody say I said not to have knife shows ????????

For those of you living off workers comp and disability, you may have the time and money to drive 9 hours or fly for three.............

WHine my butt !

Huh?

I do wonder who has the time and funds available to take entire flights and road trips for knives though...

Yes
No but you wanted unrealistic options for those that set up at the shows
What about Ganza's?
I've never driven 9hrs or flown for INFI but I DO remember when you had to pick up the phone to place orders so be happy for what you CAN get versus the "bad old days".

Bob

david, i was gonna say what you did, atl is east.

i am planning on blade 2010 already, that was an awesome party, great r & r, topnotch party, excellent food, get to meet all the busse crowd, da boss is a great party person and then you have infi and all the other toys that you care to see...

is it worth it? yup and tickets would be ultra cheap now if you have to fly

I agree that the idea of posting what is available at shows in a good one. If the knives where pictured and 'show only' prices were listed then I for one would likely make arrangements to pick up more knives. As it stands there is no pricing information given to justify me asking my brother or someone else to attend because I can not. Give those who attend first shot and lower price, I have no issue with that but I would like the remainder of the knives listed somewhere so those customers who want them but cannot afford to take off work or to travel, have an opportunity to purchase them without paying scalpers prices the day after the show ends.

The current system, discounting the company store, of shows and ganzas seems geared towards only those with a large amount of disposable income and those who are buying up knives just to tack on a huge premium and reselling them illegally without paying taxes on the income and falsely using the exchange as an individual instead of what they are, a resale business.

I agree 100%. At least let us know some show prices, so we can decide to make arrangements to buy more.

This is the Busse business model. It ain't like Amazon. Deal with it.

That's the truth. Fill in your spare time buying some other great knives out there. Over the last week I've tied up enough on Carrillo knives to buy a new car(albeit a KIA maybe), but they are sweet.

Well, I just send a letter to the IRaaSS and congress about creating some laws and tax rules for people like you, I am sure the won't mind. You know, if you don't like capitalism, please leave!

I sense a lot of love in the sty...er, room.

Seriously, if I, a non-Hog, can manage in just over 2 years to acquire FBM LE #94, SAR-4 LE #94, SAR-8 #94, plus LE, Orange, Skelly, Lep. Muddy, and Green Linen GWs; a Green Linen BAD, a tan Assault Shaker, a tigerhide Cultellus, plus the odd AD and Sus Scrofa, the system CAN'T be that messed up. All this between the BCS, Ganzaas, and the brotherly (and sisterly) community of helpful and informative Hogs too many to mention here. No Knob, no Blade, just good people. Thanks to all of y'all!

Part of this post has me laughing a bit. Please take no offense, iamtoast, because it's not how you wrote it nor its content, but what I remember about how the scene was just a few short years ago when I first learned of Busse... the 2nd half of 2006 to about the mid-point of 2007... Listed Busse's were rare enough on the X that they sold dang near instantly and at nearly any price. Everyone complained that Jerry should ramp up production, which he did, and then the economy took a header. NOW, there's a boatload of Busse's for sale, and many at darn near original prices, with some actually under these... Make no mistake, there have been some pretty sweet deals offered on the X in the last year. Last year was huge for Ganza's, and much of the 2 Blade Shows' leftovers were sold in Ganza's with lots of new knives added. So many new knife models, and so many new styles of customs/variants have and are still being offered, that many, including myself are revamping what we want to collect, and so we are moving knives to get ones in the newer offerings. Every person's disposable income has limits...

Those of you just now getting into Busse's, well... You got it good. You have a nice selection on the X, and if you don't like the price of one, most likely another of the same will be along shortly and for less, at least for a little while longer.
New models are introduced several times a year.
Although there have been fewer Ganza's this year, I believe that there are still more than in the past, with 2008 having more than ever before. Also... "TWO WEEKS" used to be sort of a sarcastic joke here, because wait times were much longer years ago, and worse before I stumbled over Busse... Now, Ganza notifications happen in time better described in hours rather than days or even weeks...
There have always been shows... If ya can't go, find a proxy.
And... The business model that Jerry uses seems to work for him, so why change what ain't broken??

Lastly, the world economy in every aspect seems to be geared towards those with a large amount of disposable income... Count yourself lucky that there are no highly successful celebrities that I'm aware of who collect Busse's, or we'd all be fighting over scraps! ;)

As for scalpers/flippers... well, who does like them? ...But there will always be some and they quickly reveal themselves. If you don't like them, don't give them your business. Simple enough, yes?

I agree 100%. At least let us know some show prices, so we can decide to make arrangements to buy more.

Do your homework. Every single Ganza pricing thread is still available here on BladeForums. It will help you to determine a fairly accurate range of prices on the types of knives that you are looking for. Don't expect Busse to do your research for you. But they do post prices in upcoming Ganzas a few days before the event... And of course don't bill you until around the time your knife/knives are ready to ship. :)
............................................................
A final note... Everything is relative. If you own some Busse's, then think of the many out there can't afford to own one. If you own one, then think of the many out there who can't afford to keep up on their bills, let alone afford any 'toys'... Or the many who won't be eating tonight... Living in poverty, no home, no job, trying to survive. Be thankful for what you got instead of calling out "it ain't fair" because LIFE ain't fair, but if you are here talking knives and spending cash on them, then you are better off than many others.

Sorry to get on a bit of a rant here! :) JMO, YMMV
