One of my machete style blades, done with a straight edge.
Overall length is 17 1/4 inches, with a blade length of 11 1/2 inches. Steel is 1084, nominally 1/8 inch thick. Running about 2 inches broad, it packs a bit of mass. "Satin" forge finish rubbed at 400/600, with a convex grind. It's my scandivex style with a very slight microbevel which helps keep up with the heavy chopping duties. Easy to keep up on with a strop.
As with most of my 'chete style knives, the handle is fairly long. Handle is 5 3/8 inside the guard, Argentine lignum vitae, with stainless tubing pins.
Balance is closer in to the handle due to the extra weight of the wood and handle length, making it handy for fine work as well.
Sheath is by me, Expedition model. Pouch with adjustable and removable belt hanger system. As always, double needle harness stitching on the double welt seams.
Serial number is 508
Asking $225, SOLD
thanks for looking, and happy holidays.
