I'm not sure where else to post this. I am asking for my father-in-law, he loves the net but doesn't have a computer.

Is there a difference between installing a new handle for a regular axe and a handle for a broad axe? I downloaded instuctions from Gransfors Bruks on fitting a handle to a felling axe, but I need to know if there is a specific way to fit a handle on a broad axe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize.

Thanks, Dale.

P.S. A broad axe is flat on one side and is used for hewing logs.

I think... that the broad axes used for hewing timbers were curved off to one side. They would stand above the timber and go down one side and then turn around and go back down the other side. All my books on the Fox Fire series and other wood tools were destroyed when my house burned. If you are planning on using it for its intended purpose, you would probably need to put the correct handle in it. If not, something you can use would probably be alright.
