I was just wondering what some of you think of this A.G. Russell.
Do any of you have one, if so I'd love to hear your opinion. The blade is supposed to be 154cm. That sounds good to me.
Looks great. I love that old time yellow celluloid. As it's an AG Russell quality should be very good. Those folding hunters tend to be a real handful of a knife if you plan on carrying it as an EDC.
I ordered one when I first saw it in AG's catalog. It was on backorder. In a follow-up e-mail I was told it was expected in around the end of this week. Hey! That's today. I may have one soon. Like you guys said "old time yellow celluloid" and "154cm" sounded good to me also.
Hi Guys,
I got one when they were first offered in AG's emailed "specials"...typical AGR top quality. Better fit and finish than you can get from virtually any production slip joint manufacturer.
Fairly heavy duty and solid lockup...mine needed some work on the Arkansas stone. Overall I am pleased and consider it a good value.
AG Russell's quality (at least when it comes to traditional folders) is top notch. I bought two of the Rope Knife Whittler from his "seconds" page (http://www.agrussell.com/agseconds/index.html) and the fit an finish is still equal to or better than the big companies here in the US and over in Germany.
I don't want to say anything negative about AG Russell yet. The knife was just not the quality that I expected from them. After I speak with one of the customer service reps, I'll get back to you.
Mine is near custom quality. Jason...would be very interested to hear what you learn from AGR..and also in detail the problems with this particular knife.
