Yes, it does.
I can give you razor sharp even with a 220 stone and rubbish steel on $5.00 knifes you buy at the Supermarket.
And I just had mine since February.
And every time I sharpen another knife it gets easier and faster to achieve the same result.
But it still requires a learning period and practise. It's not a machine that does the job for you.
Compare it to bricklaying or tiling or any of these. An instruction video and books might give you a good starting point, but that doesn't make you an expert in an instance.
