One of nephews is graduating high school. He's a great kid and already has his diesel mechanic ticket, high "18 wheeler" driving ticket and has been working for Pennsylvania DOT as a diesel mechanic for about a year. He was accepted into engineering school but told my brother that he wants to work and perhaps he'll pursue his undergraduate degree at a later date.

I'm so proud of him. He's the kind of boy any man would be proud of, independent, smart and a hard worker.

So among other gifts, I thought I'd buy the young man a Benchmade Bailout and while I was at it, give or buy my brother a Benchmade 580 Barrage. He's a knife nut but doesn't have any butterfly knives. After getting the blade profiled on the Bailout, I packaged both of them up and sent them USPS, priority, insured on May 9th.

The last tracking was at the NEIGHBORING post office, May 12th at 6:53am. Nothing since. I opened a missing package report (which they just closed today). Last anyone knew it was sent to the wrong USPS office (Wing Gap, PA). They claim it was sent back to the distribution center to be rerouted to the P.O. in Saylorsburg. Oh and we forgot to scan it but don't worry, nothing nefarious going on.

So...neither my nephew nor brother will get their knives. I can't begin to tell you how wizzed off I am right now.

I'll file an insurance claim and fully expect it will be denied. Next thing I'll do is list a couple of knives for sale in the classifieds and buy them both something new.

Rant off.
