I'm stuck with the choice between 2 knives of equal price. Now, I am a Spyderco man, But i have been wanting a Benchmade for a long time. And I cannot decide which to get. I'm split between the Spyderco P'Kal, or the Benchmade 746 mini onslaught. Any thought, or tips?

If you get the P'Kal then you have to get the P'Kal Trainer also, thus spending double!!!!

Because its a sort of specialized knife and to properly use it to its potential your gonna need to practice with it. Most would not consider it a edc knife since from what i understand its made to be used in a reverse grip.

For 130$ there are plenty of options. I myself would buy a manix xl, but that's my taste.

Hey fellow milwaukean, you will probably get this a bunch but for 130.00 or less it's hard to beat a pm2.

the p'kal is a peculiar knife design.
it takes a certain kind of rare individual to truly appreciate it's handling and unique physical character.
so that makes it probably something of a connoisseur's choice.
an onslaught is probably a better neutral choice.
given that it has a regular setup.
and imo, has more general appeal and appreciation.

Well, you say you're a Spyderco man, so mix it up! Get the 746!

for the money i would suggest the zerotolerance 0200, heck of a knife for the price

but for the two choices, id go with a benchmade to mix up your collection/edc the axis lock is fun and heavy duty, i dont have experiance, rather the few times ive held a benchmade in shops, as for spyderco, i only have a tenacious, either way, id go with the benchmade

I did some research on the axis lock.. Im leaning still more toward Spyderco, Not to say i dont appreciate all of you taking your time to help, i just think i would like another Spyder for now.. I already have All 3 Tenacious, and a Manix 2. I need to keep the blade under 4 inches, and be able to edc it, Any suggestions?

Look at the BM 940 if the onslaught it too thick for you. If you really want to stick with Spyderco I'd suggest the Caly 3.5 in carbon fiber, which you can get at about $130.
