Not That I Can Afford It

I got one friday and love it....Internet surfing is way better with the larger screen, and the screen is so crisp...I put Serenity on it last night and watched it today!

Explain to me please how Blackberry is a Canadian company, and the Storm will not be released in Canada until Dec 8th or so.

I broke my cell phone this summer diving into a pool to save a little girl from drowning in the hotel pool. The girl's parents were very thankful, and upgraded me to a much nicer phone than my old one.

She's a beaut, and much smaller and lighter than my last phone. Technology is great. I feel so liberated, being able to call any one no matter where I am.

This is what I'm having trouble with. I refuse to own a cellphone, but my dad needs a new one pretty bad. I think the Blackberry Storm would be a hell of an upgrade from hat he has now.

My favorite button on my Blackberry is the OFF button!

The Samsung Experia is going to kill the gPhone, iPhone, and the new Blackberry.

Yea... I have been keepin' out an eye on that one... Looks cool but I can totally see my self breaking that thing in a week.... I drop my phone a lot..

Although I hate the company Apple, the I - Phone really is still top dog... That phone is very solid and a few drops is no problem , given you don't hit a sweet spot .. :D

Yup. I have the 3g 16gb White myself. Jailboken and all :) With the above phone being avalible through At&t, I am thinking of grabbing it. I will just unlock my iPhone, sell it for a few hundred, hehe.

Isn't Experia SonyEricsson?

If so, PASS. I've got them W580i. Nice phone. FRAAGEEEEEELAY!!!!! Dang. I'm on my second. I like the phone, but it's built with toothpicks and gauze. Too termpermental.

The Samsung Omnia looks cool tho.

Errr the BlackBerry is the Busse Combat of phones. I have dropped mine so many times I can't remember. :o Many times when it hit the deck the back came off and the battery went flying, I even droped it in the sink and it still worked.

I would put Apple high on the list of good products but but they are no where close to a BB in durability.

I fully concur with the durability of Blackberrys. I can't tell you how many times mine's hit the deck (concrete or asphalt) and the worst I've had to do is shut if off and restart it. My screen has got a nice crack in it too....maybe I need a new one :)

i really like my HTC and i'm glad i purchased it. on a secondary note, do not drop any HTC product.

My last HTC product I had was dropped on carpet with it's soft belt case on. The lcd cracked and could not be recovered.

Skunk, I am interested in it as well. I have the 8830 and it's ok. But it is just now coming out so I may hold off a bit

I ordered one (Blackberry Storm), but it seems that the high demand means that it will take a week or two for me to get mine. After discounts and a $50 rebate, it is $100. If memory serves, I paid more than that for my POS LG enV whose only useful feature is the QWERTY keyboard. I'd prefer to have an iPhone G3, but I need to stick with Verizon due to their superior coverage of the places I visit.

I have had my Storm for nearly a month, and absolutely love it. My previous phone was an LG enV, and its only useful feature, besides being a phone, was its full QWERTY keyboard. The Storm is worlds apart. I thought about an iPhone, but I need to stick with Verizon for places I visit.

The clickable touch screen is superb. I started using Google Maps, but Google still has some GPS-related issues on the Storm. I bought Garmin Mobile this morning for $80 (it's normally $100, but I found a 20% discount), and it is superb.

I have had no issues with my Storm. I use the browser and several applications. I have linked my gmail account with it. I paired it with my car's built-in BlueTooth. It even has the ability to display Japanese, in emails and for web pages. I am trying a couple different PDF viewers at the moment. I loaded the PDF version of my book onto my Storm, and can view all of its 900 pages on it. One of the PDF viewers has rudimentary multilingual capabilities but is not WYSIWYG (the embedded fonts are ignored, which seems very counter-intuitive): PDF To Go. The other claims multilingual capabilities (but is not quite there at Beta4, which was just released) and is WYSIWYG: BeamReader. BeamReader is at Beta4, and I hope that the multilingual features get done by the time it is released in non-beta form.

In terms of Verizon service, I am paying $30 per month for unlimited 3G network use.

How could anything be compared to the iPhone? Man.. I sweat I can't understand how I ever got along without it. It's awesome. I've had one for a year now... well... first gen, then got the newer one... they rock! SO easy to use the internet. It is used A LOT every day!
