So, I Google Earthed by neighborhood last night and found out that there was a body of water what I thought was not too far out in the woods behind the 'hood...Wife was taking a nap, oldest kid was on Kitchen Patrol, and the mini-me was watching tv while plotting to take over the world...I decided that it was a good time to go exploring...Loaded up my day pack with a couple of knives, my swiss army volcano stove, some roasted peanuts, water and ramen noodles for a lunch out in the woods by myself...

Greybush...

the scenery wasn't all that great...seen some woods, you have seen them all...

About 8 years ago a Tornado went right over the top of us...some trees were still standing that were clipped off at the top...

So about 3/4's of a mile into the woods I get to this clearing and find this "body of water"..Much like myself, it looked a lot better on the internet...

Was stocked with huge fish though...

now, it has been pretty damn dry so, I will take a trek back there after we get some good rain to see if its any bigger....it also goes further back into the woods...does look like it has potential to be a nice little chill out spot though.

Now, when I settled in, I was going to make my Ramen Feast, but I decided to just make myself a little peach and mango white tea and walk around a bit...used my volcano stove to boil some water for the tea.

And some random photos just for the hell of it..

this was about a 1/2 mile deep in the woods...I have no idea how or why it was there

and a random cactus...which are not found in our area that I know of

Had a good time, it was a little warm, but nice to get out alone for a bit and put in a couple of miles....on the way back I did see and almost stepped on a rattle snake...no pics as I was too busy trying not to shat my pants to grab the camera...

looks like fun man. Damn u need some JustForMen for that face-fuzz! LMAO

That Wohlwend looks killer. I need one of those, perhaps.

Thanks for the photo journey. I enjoyed living it out through the pics. Glad you didn't get bit by that snake.

Any hike is a good hike. I bet it was nice to get out for a while.
Maybe that road sign got blown in with the tornado?

Hell, it looks fun to me. I wonder if the road sign got a ride on the twister?

If he did that he wouldn't be Greybush anymore. He'd be Fakebush.

Hey, I like Fakebush. Grey, you should do that and change your screen name. :D

Fakebush? Like a Bush Implant? LMAO

yeah...GB needs to change his name to FakeBush. I will pay for it lol

Looks like a good time. There is a nice patch of woods near my house, I'd like to go exploring but my neighbors are a little odd and may not be happy about me going through their woods with knives :). Thanks for the pics

Yeah I got a look crossing through this older ladies yard. But she saw my camera too and asked me if I was bird watching.

Cool pics. It may not be what you thought it was, but an escape is an escape. Around here, just finding a spot where you don't hear the road or anything can be a real challenge.
