Not the most boring hike in the world...with pics..

Nice jaunt!

What's the story behind the fleur de lis and 'Toujours Pret' patch? Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm a Canuck, so the fleur de lis and French is familiar to me.

Cheers

Thats the unit patch from the 2d Armored cavalry regiment, well thats what they used to be called when I was there

Thanks for the response, and thanks for your service.

I checked out Wikipedia - "...It can trace its lineage back to the early part of the 19th century where the 2nd Cavalry has the distinction of being the longest continuously serving regiment in the Army."

Very cool. One of the best things about living in Canada is having such excellent neighbours to our south.
And our North West ;-).

Looks like time well spent.
I think exploring is always fun.
The like the part about the lady looking at the camera and then not worry so much.
Funny how a camera eases someons mind.

Some cool pics. I always like seeing what life forms are in odd little bodies of water I run across. I used to have one of those old Swedish issue stove sets years ago, I should pick up another while I still can. Thanks for reminding me that I've been wanting to see if Klean Kanteen offers those bamboo lids separately or if I'll have to just buy another bottle with one.

mist, this wasnt even a klean Kanteen lid, it came off of a $5 bottle that I bought at a Walgreens last year...haha...This is my second stove, i found it at a Surplus store for $2.99 they are hard to come by, so if i ever see them I will buy all of em for that price....I can hook you up if I can get another if you would like...

Ah, I see. I thought it was one of the new bamboo lids and one-piece steel they were offering. I have the plastic and steel lid that makes my bottle a Karafe without the extra cost of having the big Karafe written on the side and giving away that I may or may not have wine in it :) Must be the chinese inspired or knocked off that one...never know which. Thanks man, but I know some folks who run an army surplus store who have boxes of the volcano stoves, not at that cheap of price I imagine since they're high on everything else, but I can usually work out deals with them. If I can't I'll definitely holler at you though.
