Not trying to be difficult but...

Warning for spam.

Infraction for gratuitous insults.

Yup, we're just like the bully who beat you up and robbed you of your lunch money. You should run crying for help to the lunchroom ladies. Maybe they'll comfort you with an extra dessert if you whine good.

Ok I thought I was done here but I think this deserves one last post.

You warned me for "gratuitous insults"? Are you freaking kidding me??? Take another look at the post. see the "lol" at the end of the statement? It was a joke. I have not, and never will purposely insult someone without a good reason.

And I have news for you, I wasn't the one getting beat up for my lunch money. I was purely making an analogy. If anyone should get the warning it should be you. This statment "You should run crying for help to the lunchroom ladies. Maybe they'll comfort you with an extra dessert if you whine good" is far from setting a good example for others to follow. :thumbdn:

Get over yourself.

I always find it pathetic when someone comments about the number of posts someone has. It's the same as when someone comes up with, "You need to get a life." Both come from people that seem to think that the number of posts another member has is somehow their business. It isn't.

Tell ya what, at this point it is time for you to get over yourself if you wish to remain here.

Infraction for Mod sass issued.

Monstermash. For only 15 more dollars you could go for gold and have many tools that you can use to get around in this sight. A gold membership doesn't buy much fuel for the car, but it gets a whole year here. You will find more knowledge here than in many knife magazines, and unlike a magazine you can have ongoing communication with people who know cutlery.

The developement of the internet has made it possible to get people from the entire planet together to talk 'knives'. By chipping in the few bucks members here have made this possible.

20 years ago it was hard to find much info about knifemaking and cutlery in general. If I could have looked ahead 20 year at that time to see blade forums and the internet it would have blown my mind. We still had 4 to a party line back then and only rotory dial phones.

So step back, surf through BF for a few days and decide if the few bucks are worth it.

If MM behaves the same way on KF, he won't be there for long either..... but I doubt that he will have the opportunity to leave on his own account. Just a guess though.

There's fifteen minutes of my life that Monstermash just wasted. Iyiyiyiyiiiii....

But if Spark didn't get $25 for a gold membership, how would he pay us mods? I mean, the Maserati for my birthday was a nice touch, Spark. Thank you:D

This site needs whatever Spark is charging to keep the doors open and banner-free. He operates this place at a loss every year. Therefore, prices should be even higher than what they are now. He is undercharging and not collecting what many would consider a fair price to participate.

Granted, there are other sites out there dealing with knives. However, I have visited a good chunk of them. When i want to talk to the pros, I come an ask the folks of BFC. This is the place for knife information.

Now, it is regrettable that registered users can no long search the forum. Spark has stated before that he is sorry for that, but something had to be cut in order for rest of us PAYING members to experience a site that wasn't bogged down and sluggish.

For me, $10 is a steal. If I had a lot of questions on a subject, I would go out and buy a book on said subject. It would probably cost me more than 10 smackers too. Furthermore, $25 bucks a YEAR to present your wares for sale to literally THOUSANDS of potential buyers is a deal. Try selling something on ebay to the masses, then try turning a profit after all the fees. Here, you pay your entry fee for the year, set your price, and get near instant response.

YMMV, i suppose. However, BFC at the current prices is a no-brainer for anyone that wants to get the most out of the hobby.

There's no way to operate the for sale forums on a "per ad" basis. It's simply not possible under the software. We did try classified ads in the past, and guess what? People didn't want to pay $5 to run an ad for a knife. So, I'm sorry, but while I appreciate your concerns and suggestions, the fact remains that if you'd like to sell on this site, you have to have the appropriate level of membership to do so. The Basic Membership is just that, a bare bones one that allows for a minimal of additional features, such as private messaging and access to some of the private forums. The Gold Membership allows larger avatars, more messaging, signatures, etc. The Platinum allows even more.

You can purchase the appropriate level of membership for what suits you. Otherwise, please don't try to get "something for nothing"

As for comparisons to other sites, DucatiMonster has very little traffic compared to us, so your comparison falls flat.

I doubt this guy will be back, and even if he is, "BANNED BY MODERATORS" is probably in his near future.

I used to spend much more per year on subscriptions to knife magazines, and selling on EPrey. Now for $25.00 a year I have all that is needed. Saves me $$$ if I would quite buying knives based off all the good info I receive here, from people that actually use their knives and gear.

People like the OP just amaze me. Here for a short time, get the panties in a wad, end up banned or leave after a torrent of ridicules posts.

What amazes me is they manage to get 500 feet out their front door and not win themselves a Darwin Award by pissing off the wrong person.

Haha what a joke. Annoying ads and clutter is why I don't usually stop by the other forums. Same reason I don't really watch any TV. If Muenstermush is a fan of watching movies on CBS with constant annoying commercial interruptions, then movie channels are not for him. . . I mean, just think of all the awesome products Billy Mays has to show you that you might be missing!

Knifeforums is free unless you want to donate. It has all kinds of banner ads. It has about a third of the membership of this forum and is growing very slowly. Somehow, that doesn't fit with your reasoning. It should be much larger than Bladeforums. This forum has been set up this way for years and has been by far the fastest growing knife forum on the internet.

I for one appreciate the fact that there are no banner ads. I hate half the page I go to being someone trying to sell me something. If you don't feel that this site is worth $25.00, then maybe you should stick with those other forums that don't charge you anything to sell and post all the photos you want. Their way of doing things is obviously more in line with your idea of how it should be done.
I garre with everything he said!! Well said Keith!!

I love BF, and am personally happy to support it!

I guess the payed membership does a great job of keeping out the trolls.......Very good filter....

Matt B.

I don't think there's anything anyone could have said that would have made him happy. He was here to pick a fight.

Even if you made every change he requested and gave him a complimentary membership, he'd have whined. You can see it in how many little complaints he lined up... even if you could defend one, he was right there with another.

What these knuckle heads do not understand, is that there is a community here. Many of us have made life-long friends with people we would not have met if not for B.F.C.

Couple that with the fact that Kevin comes out of pocket to give us this gift and has been since 1998 there have been a few rules established so that those of us that want to support this place and those of us who wish to sell here help offset the costs that Kevin incurs.

MonsterMash posted his swan song in the Kershaw forum. He was shown the door.

Ironic that a person who posts a thread titled "Not trying to be difficult but..." ends up being more than just difficult.

$30, $25 if you use the automated system
