I purchased these two round plates to use as weights when I was into weightlifting, they're about 90 lbs each and since I wasn't using them for that purpose anymore and they were just sitting in the garage... I decided I would make my anvil out of them.
I welded them together and welded them to an old car rim and set it on a steel bucket, it's about the perfect height and works well. It's mild steel so it does ding up a bit but I'm slowly grinding the surface to be larger anyway. I'll either hardface it eventually or find a 2"x4"x12" chunk of 4140 for the 'face' and grind a bit of a horn into as well.
The divot in the edge is so I could pick them up if they were lying on the floor.
