A lot of times,I look through the knife mags and discover articles written about new folders that have no indication of clip orientation or pocket depth.I know the clipside of a knife is not as pretty and uncluttered as the plain side, but could you guys include at least one pic of the back?

I agree. Another reason why I like to see the clip-side is to see if it's a double thumb stud or not. A lot of times (if it's just a brief mention) the article doesn't tell if it's a single or double thumb stud.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

At this point, everyone should realize clips are so important, I think it's utter incompetence to not show the clip slide. What's frustrating is even when there's something special about the clip, the author will describe the clip, and then there will be 6 pictures of the knife from every angle except the clip side. Very irritating.

Since we're complaining....

I hate when the magazines show a bunch of black and white photos of decorated Sebenzas or nice damascus bladed, oosic handled knives with anodized titanium bolters and liners.

To that list of complaints let's add one more: If you're showing a folder, I want to also see what it looks like in the closed position. Let's face it, folders are closed and in (or clipped to) our pockets a lot more than they're open. It's certainly not the primary consideration when judging a knife's merits, but I do want to know the knife's symmetry when closed, if there are any harsh edges or exposed corners, etc.

Recently, when I scan a pocket knife, I normally scan it left-side open and right (clip) side closed. I think I've seen other dealer pages with their own illustrations doing the same thing.

Normally the magazines use photos provided by the makers or manufacturers. And so do we dealers when we can. Making a high quality image for the Web is work. Making one suitable for glossy print is more work.

This could also be a note to dealers.

We scan and take pictures of knives here all the time and we always try to get a back side view. On the EDI site, I made the Gensis flip over as you put your mouse over it.

Another cool feature would be to have a pic of each knife in a pocket. This would greatly increase the work load on making a web site though.
