Traditional Indian cooking uses Jaggery - raw sugarcane juice boiled in iron pans and then solidified into blocks. It's typically a bitch to shred since the heat of metal liquifies it and it becomes sticky. Helped my wife today morning to shred a 2.2 pound block and used the AMSMO. Very capable blade and handled the job very well - no hot spots as well.
