yeah you should also show respect to knives by not mentioning the new, bought-out, schrade here.

what happened with buck?

the "made in china" stamp on the blade stopped me buying buck now...I believe some are still US made, but going to the local gun store and such all of em have that ugly stamp that i cant get around.

good thing i have a few older US made bucks...

I think it was more oriented to not getting people to bet on ebay stuff that were not really wanting to buy... Kind of letting it be only for legitimate bidders.

I have read a few times how cheap you could find Spyderco Natives in... can't remember... Walmart maybe? Been a long time since I was in the states.

Anyway, I could be wrong.

You're wrong. Deal spotting of any kind (eBay, Gunbroker, Walmart, KMart, online dealers, etc.) is prohibited on BFC. This rule has been in place for years. They don't pay to advertise here.

IIRC, they are bringing back all production to Idaho.

Buck is a US company under the original management. The Buck family, in fact. They manufacture in the US, they're good enough, and demand was high enough, that they used Chinese contractors to provide some low-end production. They also moved to a new factory in another state, and as 338375 said, are bringing back some of that overseas production. But they've had good US work all along.

Deal-spotting. If we have a discussion on a line of knives or a particular model, and someone asks or brings up a place to buy them, that's not deal-spotting. But starting a thread to announce a great price or a great dealer for everyone to go out and spend money there -- THAT'S deal-spotting.

Incidentally, if you yourself buy a knife from a favorite dealer who does good by you, you can post about that experience in FEEDBACK/ The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. Just as we don't want sales pitches in discussion forums, we do maintain a knife exchange area here where it is encouraged.

You know you can't pop up in the General Knife Discussion with an ad for your LNIB Native III. Why would you think you could post an ad in General Knife for a knife someone else is selling? :)

people i was buying through just musnt of had any or got the lower end in...looking for a US made 110 i found difficult and still dont own one (was less than impressed with the chinese made ones).

Thanks for the info though, appreciate it.

I didn't know Buck had the Chinese making 110's. Are you sure it was a real Buck and not a clone? I can't say, not knowing the place you saw them, but if he's only selling low-end offshore manufacture, he may not even care or know if they are knock-offs.

I've been wondering where i can find this exact knife the buck 110.Them simplistic design and curves of the knife just screams out classic.I've seen many versions of it and even knockoffs made in pakistan and china.

110's are all made in the USA, If someone comes across a 110 saying china it is a knock off.

Go to walmart then which is where i saw them (Concordia and Wichita, KS), their 110's had "made in china" stamped on em, along with the little slippies in BUCK boxes and the finish was ridiculously crap...I was under the same impression that they were US made still then saw the night i got into the US trying to pick up a EDC that they wernt.

The local gun store did too...might have to just order one in then, thats annoying!

Bucks from China???

What are they making in that new huge plant in Couer d' Alene then?? 10 miles from my house.

Bucks are made in Idaho.
