Nothing You Haven't Seen Before But...

Micarta Insingo for the win!!!!

I have a small on the way now, thanks for the heads up.

Thanks, I will try! Daddy needs new tires and glasses still this summer. Hmm How to justify keeping a CRK. :D

Haha I'm at the tire shop as we speak!
As a waiter and single dad I've somehow managed to hold on to a few good knives. My large Micarta 21 should be on my doorstop now after getting sharpened and a pair of double lugs!

Alot of Sebs here in Indiana I see, hmm, must be something in the corn:D

Nice. I give you props as well(single dad). Yeah, my family doesn't get it. The other day my mom said..."You know, your Uncle(crazy uncle) collected knives also. He had some pretty ones." Well everyone hates him...even though he was sick recectly. I felt bad. He was always the Marine who acted like he went to NAM, but stayed in San Diego the whole time. Alyways pulling out his machete while we were camping. So if I told them what I just bought, let alone having two CRK's. I think my dad would stroke. "Why do you need that." Or "Why do you need the best?" I drive a Ford Fusion, pay my bills, and my rent. My son is number one, obviously. Dad's have to have fun, right? It's a good hobbie/obsession as long as you chose getting your child shoes over a SEB. ha Both?(Shoe shopping today. Adidas only)

Thanks brother! Let me know how you like yours!

I will! I really hope it arrives before the weekend. I opted for the free shipping, but now I'm worried that I should have just selected their FedEX option.

Aren't impulse purchases the best? :D

Congratulations, you will LOVE it!

Impulse purchases often times are the best purchases. I'm kind of obsessive with stuff, and often times end up returning things that I spend forever deciding to purchase or not. Impulse buys are usually the purchases that I stick with.

Dang it you guys! With a small little profit sharing, small I say, from work. Father's Day coming....and selling my Mnandi. I did it! Bought a small CRK Sebenza Insingo w/micarta inlay from them a couple hours ago. Right after burnside's post. Excited!! My current grail. Now, what to do with my NIB small 21 Sebenza. hmm

I would either sell it to fund the small insingo w/micarta, or if you can afford to keep it, I would sell it and buy a large 21, large tanto, or large insingo w/micarta, or a small tanto. LOL (I think I have caught the Chris Reeve fever before even getting my insingo).

Micarta Insingo for the win!!!!

Glad you caught win of the restock! I notice they are out of stock today. The small insingo w/micarta seems to be one of the more popular models of Sebenza.

I think that when getting into a hobby like high-end knife collecting (or even just owning a few high-end workers), it is more of an investment hobby. I really cannot afford to collect a bunch of 400 dollar knives myself, but the ones I invest in, I know that I can get the majority of my money back without taking a heavy loss. If you are in a jam and need money, the market for collectable folders like the Sebenzas will always be there.

When I read about people storing their collectable knives in their safes, to me, it seems like just putting money in the bank but you get to enjoy it more.

I need to figure out if I should keep both of my new PM2 M390's, sell one, or sell both! ...And now I have a large Insingo, Umnunzaan, or Tanto in my visions of the not-too-distant future...

Yes the kid comes first! He's a great little guy, smart as a whip, and I'm a lucky man to be able to call him my son:thumbup:

I mainly fund my purchases through selling/trading knives I have but the ones I'm willing to part with are all gone so time to start saving up

A small Insingo has been my EDC for quite a while now. The blade shape is so useful that I just can't seem to find anything else to replace it.

If it wasn't for him I would not have started collecting again. Wouldn't be on this forum right now, learning from all of you. And thinning out my wallet. Ha...Yeah I sold my ZT 0560, Sage 2&3 for my small Seb. He doesn't like them that much. Loved my PM2 before I sent it back. Loves my Sage 1 and Benchmade 585. He doesn't like CRK yet. Into his SPyderco Ambitious/Quark Preon 1.

It all sarted at a Scrimshaw shop where I never opened a flipper before. I was holding a CRKT Ken Onion Ripple 1. Held it to the side and pushed down on the flipper. It shot out and was thinking, wow! (Where have I been since my SAK and Kershaw lock-back in the Army) I looked at his face, he was 5 then. His mouth was wide open saying, "I gotta have one of those." Priceless! He is awesome. Loves going to the mailbox to see what's next or inside.;)

It's not just about the knives. It's that we collect together. Grow this bond. I show him all my purchases and trades. His opinion is important to me. He teaches me so much. I sit back and watch him. Every father/parent needs to. He's hilarious and smart. My mini bff!

My kid is two. Everytime he's sees me use one of my knives he points with a big smile on his face and says "Sebenza". Way to cool:D

Yeah, I can't compete with that. I think Mr. Reeve himself should hear that. haha Learning him well!

Having tried both the small insingo and the small carbon fiber (drop point), I have to say in this size the insingo blade shape definitely wins out! With the normal blade, I keep running out of edge, but with insingo I can cut right up to the tip.

I guess if I were to get a small Sebenza it'd be the Insigno. Everyone that raves about the Insigno is speaking of the small so at some point when I've accumulated the Larges I'm after i'll have to give the small a go:thumbup:

My edc today is the large micarta insingo, I carry it more than my plane jane small seb. I think somewhere down the line I'll get a small insingo, although I'd like wood inlay.

I am thinking about buying a back up insingo, because i don't know for how long they will have any more just in case something horrid happens to it!

Not sure what will happen! At least hopefully we can all say the word Sebenza for a long time. Including River's grandson one day. Sebenza 50?
