A 25,000 dollar order is huge, did you receive any Strider Knives?

It seems to me that many of the Strider Dealers like Vinnie and Mike at badassknives are Marines or closley associated with the Corp.

Originally Strider Knives was only selling to armed forces personal especially Spec OPs level troops. Fortunantly for the us the product has made it to regular civilans.

My Striders will never see military battle, except for the one I loaned my brother in law in Afganastan or where ever he is now! i buy form a select few dealers. I have currently 6 Striders some are in use by my wife, brother and brother-in-law. All see heavy duty.

I think there is more to this, much more than pricing or advertising, or buisness ethics.

I did check out knifecenter, prices are the same if not lower on the Buck Striders. But thats a Buck knife using a Strider design and production process. 1SKS will still be selling the Buck Collaboration line.

This thread does major damage though. Like stabbing someone in the face in a confrontation cutting of the CPU big time!

That being said, I can see Striders position. I can also see 1SKS's side of it.

But for Duane to post the "Notice" really puts the 1/4" flying war dagger into the heart of the matter.

wouldn't it be better to deal with all of this in private? i mean you don't go and embarrass your friends on really important things, you usually pull them aside and try to work things out.

I'm with Assassin on this one. This problem would be better talked about over the phone or in meeting. This whole issue just seems like a little misunderstanding and I hope for Strider and 1 Stop that everything works out.

Since its on this forum and public

Lets hear from Mick or Duane!

Interesting comments from 1SKS, is this going legal/lawyer lier stuff?

Geez Spartan, you sound like your in love with all this romantic quarter inch flying steel talk. Don't get me wrong, I love strider knives, I won't carry anything else. But frankly I don't care what kind of guys they are. I carry their knives because they are the best. I'm buying a superior product, i'm not buying any "honor before all else" bullshit.:barf:

Mr. Kevin and fellow knife enthusiasts,

1. Those of you who are requesting that this be handled privately are commended.

2. Contrary to the comments libeling Strider Knives, our phone has been answered by our administrative personnel who spoke directly to Kevin in excess of three times weekly for several weeks.

3. Strider Knives Inc. placed the post of One Stop Knife Shop's termination on both, this forum and Usual Suspects forum for the purpose of helping those affected by our decision only.

4. Prior to that post, a lengthy email was sent via my personal email address to Kevin (not to the forum) to handle this situation.
The following final sentence is cut from that letter:

"If you would like to make contact with me on this matter, you may do so at this email address or by phone at 760.471.8275.

Duane Dwyer
STRIDER KNIVES INC."

I am at the shop today, I have not received phone messages nor email responses from Kevin to the company address or my personal address from which I sent him the communication yesterday.

Finally, call our business practices what you wish, Kevin points out that he verbally agreed to certain things. He then points out that those things do not count, for they were not in writing. Ethics?

I do not wish to continue this on the forum and will only do so to an extent that Mick and I feel necessary. All personal emails will be answered, as will our phone.

Duane Dwyer
Strider Knives Inc.

Yeah,
Honor before all else except loyalty is most certainly not bullshit!
When spoken from Mr.Duane Dwyer or Mr. Mick Stirders mouth it is word. Trust me there are not to many people walking around who can live up to this!
I come into contact with maybe a small percentage of people who I really think are with it. Strider guys are those guys!

Per Duane's request all my comments on this subject are ending now.

It is a sad time for bladeforums, this is not good.

It's all about who cast the first stone.

I have since reviewed the above email, and it was sent roughly one hour prior to Duane's post having been made. Since it arrived at 9PM EST, I did not read it before seeing his thread on this forum libeling myself and my business.

In the email, Strider Knives has threatened litigation on the grounds of libel and states they will begin the process on Monday.

Since Duane cast the first stone by publicly impugning my business, and ethics, I feel it is only fair to inform him that I will be contacting attorneys on Monday to respond to these threats, the damage done to my business & reputation by the above statements, and the restriction of free trade that Strider Knives attempted to impose on our business.

This is not a joke. And in response to point 2 above, I'm glad that Duane admits that I called 3 times a week regarding our account. The fact that I would continue calling clearly illustrates Strider Knives failure to contact me regarding any information I requested. Since Duane handles all dealer accounts, the responsibility ultimately lays on his shoulders.

Since Duane has personally seen to question and disparage my business ethics publicly, on multiple sites, to thousands of potential customers, my public questioning his actions was warranted. Had he wanted to handle this privately, he should not have made this public. He could have used the phone at any time during the last 3 months - I repeatedly asked his "administrative" employee's to forward messages to that effect and confirmed he'd received them.

FYI, Duane, the truth is an absolute defense to slander & libel accusations. Best of luck to you.

Kevin

i'm not a big fan of lawyers ... they will be the only winners though if this proceeds.

disputes like this are best settled by not "launching broadsides" at each other. especially on the internet

before you both get lawyered up ... think about what your real "damages" are and what you really hope to gain by engaging in a such a public battle and a potential legal confrontation ....taking into account the cost to both sides in reputation, hassle, and expense

back to watching football

it musn't be about casting the first stone or the resulting tidal wave, but what is done about it. otherwise the resulting tidal wave will wipe out a whole lot of everything.

You might want to change that 'sig line' now... ;)

Mel

p.s. Publicly posting private emails, discussions of personal phone calls, and even running 'dirty laundry' up the flag pole is always considered 'bad form', regardless of who's doing it...

I'd suggest that you lock down this thread before the jackel's come to dinner...

At this point, I have to agree with you, Mel. Questioning a man's integrity & ethics goes beyond the pale in my opinion as well.

Duane's "lengthy email" has been answered, and the ball is now in his court. I will go ahead and lock this thread down as nothing further needs to be said publicly by myself, and since Duane has expressed the desire to refrain from continuing this discussion now that he's said his bit.

We'll see what happens on Monday.

Kevin
