Just got the email. Thoughts? Opinions?



I personally have no experience with the steel, so I’m curious how it stacks up to the other steels Buck offers. Nice knife, I hope everyone that wants one gets one

Wish it was 'something' else. I personally don't collect kitchen / camp / bar-b-q type knives (and I don't use what I collect - I know, Crazy !). Plus you can get a 420 steel with elk, 931 chef knife for $140 (various other options and price points available) - although it is a regular issue and not limited edition like this 945. And different applications per knife. Well, there is always next month : )

To each his own. I was pretty happy to see something different. Picked one up. Worst case it gets re-gifted if I don't like it.

Nice looking knife, just not really what I'm into. I really wanted to get one for this month too, since we just brought our 4th child home from the hospital this past Saturday. I thought it'd be cool to get a collector for his month and birth year. Even with that, though, I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.

Not to tempt the fates, but, your child may grow up to be a world class chef ? Then it would be a really cool gift - something to ponder.

What is the grind?

I checked the site and it didn’t say. Unless I missed it. But it looks full flat to my eye from the picture. Looks to be a good slicer I would think

I called Buck, no one to answer phone, they're at lunch.....
So I went ahead and ordered one anyways.
I could care less about the fancy handle, but your gonna pay $100 for a decent knife anyways so.....

Less than 10 left..... I wish I had picked up more than one of the chef knives Last may, grind and steel make it 100x better than the standard kitchen knives! Now only 5......

that went quick. I missed it completely, but it isn't one I wanted and I've run out of knife budget so I'm good. congrats to those who got one. post pics and show that ebony blonde streaked handle off.

I'm still crying that I missed the February 055 knife . Will pass on this month, although I think it is a nice knife.

Just like 8 out of 10 BOTM's it was sold out by the time I seen it..BUT it was not a 112 I just had to have. Interesting Buck and I'm happy for those who got one. Was there a 3 knife limit?

Dang! I just saw the email LOL. I didn't stand a chance with being too busy with work and household stuff. I would have liked to have snagged one. Maybe it's for the best as I just received one knife with two more in the mail.....

[Edit:] It would have gone well with my May 2019 BOTM 944 Ebony Chef Knife. (This picture doesn't capture how nice it looks in person.)
