Novice to knives question about case stainless steek

Yes, it will get a patina if it is used. It will develop scratches from use. That is the kind of patina you will see. My mini copperhead has some of this ss patina that is brought out in this photo taken in bright light:

It certainly isn't the same type of patina that carbon steel attains.

good looking knife, and i like the way scratch patina looks on ss.
mine won't be sitting in a drawer but will be used as needed.

And unless the scratches are real deep you can always buff them out with increasing grades of polishing compound on a buffing wheel, dremel, or cloth and elbow grease.

Nah, nah, nah... It will wear them proudly as a testiment of its usefulness. The photo shows them up much more than normal light would.

Here's the same knife same day same tree, different angle.

Yeah, I go for the CV really for the patina, not any perceived performance difference...

lol! Should I have said real or perceived? :)

Just wanted to edit to add:
i.e. Frank would know the objective differences, I would only know the subjective :)

Thanks for the grins.

If you do a controlled comparison side-by-side, the CV holds an edge marginally better. But I agree, I'd be really really surprised if somebody could honestly tell the difference in everyday use.
