I had purchased my first Emerson, a CQC-8 around a month ago. After opening, closing it whenever I could get the chance over this last month, this baby is smooth. I get it. I have broken this in myself and now it is truly MY knife. I now feel like there is a bit of myself in this knife. I hope this does not sound cheesy, but this is how I feel. You put the work in, you get the reward.
I can't wait until my next one.Maybe a super 8. I am digging the banana blade.
Cheers

I know I will get too whenever I get my first (Mini A100) from the mother ship.

I feel that everyone who gets an Emerson and says it is too grainy, too slow, etc. Has never used it enough to fully break it in. I've had 3, and after they broke in all 3 have been some of the smooooothest knives I've had the pleasure of fondling lovingly....uh, I mean....thier smooth.

Indeed. I must admit at first, this guy was tight. But I did half expect it after hanging around here for a while. They do take some braking in but that's part of the beauty and personal fulfillment of this knife.
Cheers

Awesome knives arent they? Wish I had checked em out and given em a real chance a long time ago rather than being a steel snob.

Same thing happened to me. I love my mini commander. It is my first knife over $100. I am now a very big fan of emersons

I have often referred to Emersons as the Les Baer of folders. Tough, tight, and functional above aesthetics. My Kreined CQC-11 is perhaps my favorite blade (but my Rukus is close).

Exactly how i felt when i got my first Emerson a cqc super 7 that needed a lot of break in time, i felt just like i did on the first day of basic training "what did i get myself into" now there isnt another brand of knife on the market i see myself buying.

I just got my 7. That was fast.
I am truly stoked. I now know what you guys mean with the cqc-7 I know I just got it but within the first few minutes I am loving it.
I have some pics as promised. Put her right next to my 8. Please excuse my crappy phone pics. And this is my first time posting pics so look out

Trying this again.
Edit; OK so I can't post pics. Tried photobucket but all I can get is links. Anyway, that's not going to spoil my new knife night.
