Now I have the slightest idea why Becker.

Got my first Becker.

BK2.

First impressions:

- Probably would be the last knife standing of all the knives I have (/and will ever have).

- The sound of the blade sliding through the fine grit rod is different from all the other blades I have, it's a beast's roar.

Now, what's my next Becker(s)?

Thank you BK&T.

Welcome!

Bk9!

Although closeout pricing on the bk4 and 5 makes them honorable mentions in my book.

At the least, you need the basic 'Small, Medium, Large' setup.

Small - 11, 14, 24
Medium - 2, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17
Large - 4, 5, 9, RBK

My recommendation - 24, 15, 9

The 4 and 15 are on clearance sale (~$50) so fit nicely within a tight budget.

Hey Xdayv.....

Thank you for purchasing one of my blades....... I hope your new Campanion works her tail off for you....... Good steel do sound fine, do it not?......... LOL......... Welcome to our forum and I hope to hear from you frequently ........

All best......

Wow guys seriously? He asked for a suggestion on his next Becker....

The correct answer is 'All of them' :D

You already have thick, so if you want long go for a 5. If you want small(er) I'd go with an 11 or 14/24 which ever you found more comfortable. Don't forget to grab a 13 while you're at it, it fits in the front pocket of the 5

My only Becker is the BK2. I'm in awe, its an absolute brute. You could drive it into a tree and use it for a step. I've honed her down to shaving ability and bought a dandy sheath. Someone here referred to the BK2 as their "alone" knife... That is also an adequate description for me as well.

That knife was on the survival series "alone" here is the link of one of the guys on alone and what he took. http://youtu.be/aYjQEARnSVk

Thanks guys for the replies; I actually jotted down all the BK models you just mentioned, and will go over them one by one. Will check what model/s to complement the BK2.

"Now I have the slightest idea why Becker."
--> A warm welcome from the man behind these awesome tools. Now the idea is clearer than ever. Thank you and more power.

bk4, 5, & 15 are on close out & being discontinued. Try one of them 1st. I have all 3 because of that and the screaming deal pricing. Of all of them, the15 gets the most use, it's truly a marvel in the hands.

BK-2, the beast that it is, is a gateway Becker. Now that you have experienced first hand (pun intended) the ergos of the Becker handles - it's a no-brainer for you to delve into the variety of blade shapes and functionality that Becker Knives offer.

Me thinks you're hooked!

I am following this basic setup.

Like he said. Bk9 would be my next choice. Then a bk 16

Lots of choices, but somehow winding up with the one above. At least, that's the direction for now.

Gateway indeed! Now there's no way out. :foot:

Congrats on your epiphany. :D

The BK2 makes a phenomenal first impression doesn't it? The next purchase depends on if you want more "shock and awe" or want to build a balanced collection of tools. For shock and awe, the BK9 is called King for good reason. For a small knife the BK15/16/17 are fantastic smaller knives. For a slim EDC blade that would double your Becker collection for the least money, the BK11 is a great little knife as long as you accept the small handle. It would give you something fun to practice your paracord wrapping on, or buy some aftermarket scales. Very slim, and very capable...................and all truly GOOD beer blocks sunlight and comes under pry-off caps. ;)

ALL that said, I don't think anyone has mentioned the BK7 yet. It probably shouldn't be your very next purchase (no wrong choices though) but you definitely need one eventually. It's probably my favorite BK of the entire lineup.

Most probably after the 9 and 16; I'll be looking at the BK11 vs BK14 dilemma,

You are right, the 7 has not been mentioned much here, but it's really a good candidate.
