Now I want a junglas

I've wanted to acquire a Junglas since I first saw one. The hog thread was tempting, but so far I've been able to resist. I believe I'll hold out until Christmas.

I've really yet to find anyone here (including me) that needs a Junglas other than the guys it was named after...The Junglas. And to be real honest all they really need is a cheap machete. Basically what I'm saying is you're not really going to pick up any advantage by buying our Junglas than you would already have with a similar blade.

When I find a company that I feel offers a superior product with an honest and upright management structure and a fair business plan, I stick with them.

That's why I picked Spyderco, and that's now why I'm going to continue to be a loyal buyer of ESEE products.

Keep doing what you're doing, sir, and I'll keep doing what I'm doing---buying your product.

"No...don't buy our super awesome big knife....really, you don't want it...truly."

Reverse psychology...I see what you did there. ;)

Seriously though, I hear what you're saying despite the fact I bought a Junglas anyway. Do I truly have a "need" for it?....no. Can I think of several uses for it though?...yes. It's one of those items that will come in handy at some point.

I'm a firm beliver in the "better to have it and not need it, than need it and don't have it" philosophy.

With a machete and a 4 you can do everything you want... But the fun factor of a 10" knife is just irresistible.
In case of a survival situation jeff will rather hand you a nickel if it'll save your life, than selling you a junglas

I ordered a junglas instead of a lite machete simply because thin and leafy green vegetation isn't my primary foe in northern bc. Most of the time I'm dealing with 1-2inch+ branches, and the junglas will still work for the occasional section of thin leafy greens.

Plus, If I'm batonning I don't want a thin springy machete that is more likely to break if I'm not careful with what I choose to baton through.

Rat, has a point. Can do everything with a normal machete, but who wants to be normal? Hahahaha. You can use a fwd car everyday, but some people just haveeeee to have a torquey mustang or camaro.....or an awd turboed monster like an evo or sti ;P. Corvettes and or gtr's lol.

Trust me, its about wants so much as much, as need. I've been spending time at the SEMA autoshow, everything is mostly want lol. widebody new m3's.....

ford raptor f150 is hotness. but highly over kill for most people. same with a concept I built before sema for a friends private gallery. ford rex f350 super duty.

Junglas isn't just for looks ;) and I am not jungle adventurer or survivalist. But I sure do loveee it ;)

True, but the Junglas splits wood nicer. ;)
Ya, I use an axe too! :D

Some knives are worth owning for the cool factor...This is one of them.

I keep an Rtak in my truck for an equalizer....I must admit that looking at the damage it did to the hog makes one realize just how decisive it could be.

Machete may be more practical, but the Junglas is so sexy. Plus, for those of us in the North East, there isn't a lot of light vegetation to slash, but there is a ton of hardwood and thicker branches!!!

An axe may be more practical, but ESEE doesn't make an axe :D.

So the Junglas does everything the machete can do..and probably more. Factor in the ruggedness and cool factor, plus the ability to fend off a ninja attack and I think this is the winner.

:thumbup:. If $$ is tight get a cheap machete. If $$ was tight most ppl here wouldn't buy a Lite Machete. But since you the OP are here my $0.02 The Junglas is my favorite Esee Knife. The least used but still my favorite. I have them all except the 5 & 6.

The way i look at it is I'd rather invest in quality and functionality. This is a knife I plan on having for a long time. I have a nice little rig hooked up to my Junglas that has a bare minimum survival kit in it. Its funny but its my most used knife..having the Izula and 5. When I cook I only ever use the large chefs knife so I guess I just like a big blade....No Freud jokes please.
