Now I want a scout knife - recommendations?

I have been carrying around a Wenger SI lately, which is a scout knife pattern in alox. It seems just about right for me as a balance between minimalism and utility, and has pretty much bumped other knives and multitools out of my edc lineup. However, I would love something more attractive just for my own aesthetic pleasure. Who makes a good scout knife with nice handle materials (for under $100)? Where can I get one?

Several good choices out there, personally I prefer the Camillus made Scouts, that had several different brand names on them. My favorites include the Remington Scout and the Camillus Classic Cartridge Knife that was one of the few that Camillus made with bone handles in place of synthetic.
Both of these no longer made due to the closing of Camillus but still available on ebay and other places.

You can get a Case in stag for about that if you don't mind stainless. I just bought a nice 6 blade German Bulldog for under fifty...we'll see how it looks when it arrives...

Boker does, in configuration it is identical to the Bulldog in pattern with the addition of a bail. AG Russell has them.

Interesting. I feel the same. Scouts have all I need for day to day use. Recently I switched from my faithful old Victorinox Farmer to scout patterns. First, I got an amber bone Rough Rider Scout from eBay, and was quite impressed with the overall fit and finish. Then I picked up an A.G. Russell Scout. What a remarkable folder. Quality is great and very handsome looks. Now I'm thinking seriously about collecting scouts.

Darn, those knives are beautiful!

If you are on a budget, how about a Victorinox Soldier?

I have a scout-pattern SAK (Wenger SI = Soldier with bail), but I want something "prettier." I'm not exactly on a budget, but we have made some big purchases in the Foilist household lately, and a $100 pocket knife is hard to justify at the moment.

The A.G. Russell Premium Scout is the "it" knife for me though.

I like the Case, and Boker scout knives the best, but I'm pretty fond of the Camilius ones too.

Hi Absintheur, I saw those also and am very curious about them. I can't wait to hear what you have to say about it. They have virtually every celluloid color imaginable.Looks to be decent quality also.

I have been eyeballing these Bulldog scout patterns also. Must be from the same ebay seller as his background is always red. Anyone who has a Bulldog scout wish to comment on their fit and finish and overall quality?
