Trying to decide on an EDC. I'm looking at the BM Skirmish 630, BM 710 D2, Emerson Commander, & Emerson CQC-12. Any thoughts?

That BM Skirmish, however beautifully designed, is one BIG knife for EDC. Your call, but I'd handle one first if it were me (it aint). For close to 11 years I carried a BM-Emerson 975. That's a big knife, though not quite the size of the Skirmish...so I'm used to carrying a big folder. But the SKirmish is so big (as big as the Rukus, though slimmer) that I;ve decided my next folder will be the mini-Skirmish (a fairly large knife itself)

I was going to suggest the big Rukus over the mini since you said it might need to take the place of your fixed blade. Looks like you went ahead and got it so all I can say is good going on all the purchases!!

If the big Rukus is too big for EDC, look at the 14205, it's blade is 24% thicker than the mini-Rukus, the same thickness as the big Rukus. It's all about striking the right compromise isn't it?
