Let's get back to work on that new Camillus Knife we've all been designing in secret. I finished carving the blade and flipper out of a bar of soap. Hey, it's just a prototype, remember?

So who else has a piece to add. ;)

I've been trying to figure-out a way to make my Camillus Cuda CQB-1 knife grow into an 8-9 inch blade! I think THAT would be a very nice "combat knife".

talonite blade.
6 inches long.
dagger blade.

AUTO!

hell,i can dream,cant i?

A BK&T Tac-tool with a blaze orange handle & sheath. That would be popular with Fire, Rescue, EMT, & SAR crews.;)

Okay. Let's make this a little more fun. We design a new Camillus knife as a collaborative effort between us. Something REALLY outrageous. We're after the ultimate knife monstrosity. We add in all of those features that we always wanted in a knife, and see what we come up with. Let’s do a folder, just because we can add more needless stuff to a folder, and people will praise us for our variety of fantastic features (read needless eye candy). :)

So I've got my blade with a flipper. We need to decide on:

1. Blade shape
2. Blade length
3. Blade material
4. Blade coating
5. Serrations?
6. Handle shape
7. Lock type
8. Opening mechanism
9. Scales type
10. Scale attachment

Then, of course, all of the extra eye candy. Lots of ideas!!! Pocket clips, lanyard holes, extra gizmos, etc, etc, etc.

We can surprise Will when he gets back, and tell him that this is what we all want in a knife. It should be pretty hideous. After all, it’s what we ALL want in a knife. With a little luck, Will won’t lose all respect for us after seeing the specs. :barf:

When Will gets back, methinks some folks might get banned from posting in this forum  :D LMAO.

How about some sort of folding prybar/semi truck jack/manhole cover lifter folder?? I want somethng I can stick in a vise and sledge hammer the handle and expect the lock to not budge a millimeter. I want a folder that will earn the envy of Lynn Thompson :p (Oops, am I allowed to mention his name in this forum?? LOL)

Okay. So the new folder uses the PryBar lock system. :) We attach a little chain to the frame's lanyard hole, with a thick steel pin on the other end of the chain. You open the knife and stick the thick pin through a hole in the frame and blade, thus securely preventing the folder from folding up....... Assuming the pin doesn't fall out.

Maybe a sinmple frame lock with 2 inch thick scales would be more appropriate. And an 18" blade, long enough to lift a manhole cover with. It would also need a heavy duty pocket clip to fit in my specially modified "monhole cover work jeans pocket".

1. Blade shape = recurve
2. Blade length = 4"
3. Blade material = talonite
4. Blade coating = none
5. Serrations? = none
6. Handle shape
7. Lock type = framelock
8. Opening mechanism = hole
9. Scales type = titanium
10. Scale attachment

YA MON!!! (Sorry Buzz, I could not resist...just makin' fun of your typo :p )

First they need to get the PryBarLok™ system patented ;) But before that send a few prototypes to the NY DOT road work crews for field testing :D This folder will have to make the Strider guys sit up and take notice

I'm still waiting for the Camillus Light Saber. Never needs sharpening, long lasting lithium batteries...

;P

We need an EDC with quick-change blades. Different steels/talonite and shapes.

We need a quick-change-blade Madd Maxx with blades longer than the handle, like those old European hunting folders. A 6 inch handle with a 10 inch blade that could be used for light stuff without even opening it up!

I'm gonna hafta pattern weld a bunch of Irish Spring together for this proto.

Whatever it looks like, it needs a little compass inlaid in the handle, and maybe a whistle.

Oooooooohhhhhh. A whistle!!! Yah!!!

Seeing as I'll be carrying the final product every day, I want to insert an actual useful, yet almost-impossible-to-implement item. I'd like an extra blade that can unfold from the handle, turning the knife into a pair of scissors.

I also want one of those sewing thread/fishing line cutters built into the handle, where part of the blade is exposed in a recessed area.

Buzzbait,

To blazes with that fliplock. You want outrageous? Give the lazy man a REAL blade! I want a blade that I don't have to use muscle to effect cuts with....

What you say! Yeah... we graft the design concepts of a CHAINSAW, the size of the power unit in a photon battery mini-light but long latsting lithium, and a Talonite blade together. And NO!!! I don't mean anything like one of those el cheapo vibrating kichen carving knives. I mean a ball breaking, heavy duty, battery powered (solar back up is just fine too), hand sized, talonite BUZZ (pun very much intended) BLADE!!!!

Flick it on and the blade becomes a blur ready to slice and dice anything within it's reach!

Ah, the lazy man's ultimate Camillus talonite monstrosity......the BUZZ BLADE!!!!!

heheheheheheheheheehe

A folding chainsaw with a thumbstud!
Back to the knife  The compass and whistle are must haves, as are exchange blades, & let's not forget the mini ax blade. I think there should be enough blade options to fill a GI ammo pouch...
On the titanium frame...jigged bone and mokume to dress it up a bit

I also think that one of the blades on this folder design should carry either a Luminox Seal Dive Watch, or an Omega Seamaster!, and maybe another blade with a changeable fold-out topo map to go along with the compass mentioned earlier.:D.

ALL I GOTTA SAY IS...THANK GOD for the simplicity of the BK&T designs. You gentlemen are huckin filaroius!!!!

I've got an idea for a new kind of folding knife -- that I think could be the strongest ever!

My idea is part of the handle will retract and stay in your pocket when you draw the knife -- gotta think of a name for that part of the handle, some kind of technical term....
