Just ordered what will be my last knife purchase for a while. I bought a para2 in blue g10 with s110v. A bm grip 551 orange g10. 154cm, and my first hinderer a half track red g10 and s35vn

I already have a ZT in s35vn but haven't had to sharpen it yet any advice for maintenance of these three knives? Special lube needed for joints?

Here they are and I am surprised that at this point handling them the cheapest of the three, the benchmade, is my favorite so far. I like the feel of the other two but they are not quite as sharp as I was expecting. The bm is smooth as silk and that axis lock is the best designed locking system I have ever used imho. The hinderer is a beast of a little knife and once it ever gets razor sharp it may easily be my new favorite

I'll leave the maintenance/sharpening advice for the more experience knife guys on this forum. Just wanted to wish you luck on that first sentence in your post! We've all said that at one time or another...

Great blades man! I have both a Griptilian and a s110v paramilitary and they both have a permanent place in the collection for different reasons.

As far as maintenance goes, I usually have a process that takes a few minutes: q tip dry inside the handles, q tip little amount of clp oil inside the handles, dry q tip to clean out said oil, oil the blade, and leave a very thin coat. I would caution that you should minimize putting oil in the pivot because of excess buildup of dirt and lint.

Those blades should last you a few lifetimes, enjoy!

Unless you dig up dirt and plants with your knives, you may have several yrs before you need any lube. You could get fancy as heck, or you could use a drop of 3-in-1 Oil on the pivot, or any gun oil, or silicone spray. I have some special lube in a hypodermic tube/needle, but haven't opened the package yet. Maybe next year.
My knives are usually CRK's or some mid-tech knife. Yes, CRK has their own lube that they recommend, but unless you get your knife dirty, you might never need it.
Just my opinion... KISS principle

Yep. I have said this with knives, flashlights, camping gear... It is always good a thought when I buy a quality piece of kit. Never seems to hold true for me though.
