Now this is scary

It is frightening.
Also, the start of a renewed interest in the slight and inconsequential Bird as a deliverer of Death in the Horror Movie Genre.
Don't stare too long into the eyes of that Chicken, there's an egg dropper holding the keys of the Kingdom.

I got yer Tamiflu right here. Special deal, only for you. $10,000 a dose. I never did trust chickens with those black beady little eyes. I guess Polly gets a little arsenic on his cracker.

That is scary. But hey, let's look at the glass half full here. you do have about a 50/50 chance of survival. What can one do, but hope the reaper does not come knocking? Eating right won't save you, buckling your seatbelt won't save you, political banter won't save you. You are at the mercy of a bird. Quality medical treatment really can't help you because they've only found one drug that combats it. Roll the dice, hope you're strong and healthy enough to fight it off, make your peace. I know about 80% of everything is media sensationalism, but does anyone else ever get a little creeped out about the stuff that's going on?

Jake

Hope it doesn't make it here. I have tons of chickens!

Seriously stuff like that spreads a lot. I heard that a bunch of illegals coming across the Mexican border with fighting cocks ended up bring in Newcastle's in Calif. Bird Flu will likely come the same way.

I was just reading a story detailing the community effort of the influenza outbreak of 1918 in Huntington WV.

It's time gentlemen. I say we kill ALL the chickens and have a wing eating contest the likes of which has never been seen. Better them than us.

Healthy birds make good eating, lets eat them while they still are. ;) Scary stuff BTW. Good luck and God bless those that are working to prevent this potential out break.

What's the best HI Khukuri for killing enormous numbers of chickens in a single afternoon?

None of these Chickens have mutated yet, right?

So now on top of everything else we have to worry about the birds …and killer bees are now migrating up from South America at a rapid rate....so maybe your mother was right you do have to be careful with the birds and the bees

....sorry couldn't resist :o

I think a pair of 18" Sirupati's would be most excellent. You could scare up a mess of feathers right quick.

I'm with you, Bob. A preemptive strike is called for. One glorious finale of hot sauce and indigestion and it will all be over.

In all seriousness, if you catch this stuff and survive, you're good to go after that, right?

Time to stock up on the echinacea and orange juice...

We're relatively cool until some strain starts going people-to-people. THEN it hits the rotating-blade appliance, and piles of dead chickens won't mean a thing.

I think there's more to it than what we know and that there’s more to it than we’re being told. The West Nile Virus being transmitted by mosquitoes is somehow related to birds as dead birds are collected to check the incidence of the virus here in Oklahoma and I presume other states.

In addition to knives, I love adult oriented, high quality pellet rifles.

As do I. Quiet, affordable, and honestly some of the best firearms training available (short of shooting a firearm) that I've ever witnessed. Every mistake is magnified tenfold. How many other disciplines are there where you have to dope the wind at fifteen yards?

At the risk of jacking the thread...nice Baikal you have there. Have you played with the Drozd yet? ;)
