I finally got off the drawing board and into making a mess and a new knife rack today. About froze my backside off as it's wicked cold outside in these parts lately.

I thought I'd be making a lot more room for future acquisitions and I'm sure I can put them closer together I'm sure. Anyhow it was nice to work on hanging fine blades inside out of the cold once I got to that point.
Made good use of an otherwise unusable space. Wish I'd know I was gonna be a derelict when I built the addition, I surely would have done things differently.

For your viewing pleasure.

And tucked away.

Abandoned the magnet plan as I didn't have loot for magnets, I'm pleased with the hooks. Had to modify each one but it wasn't tough. I'm still tossing around idea's in my head, it's a large head but not a large idea storage area.

I made a little hook for the antique Karda and Chakmak for the Long Leaf, might do that to the rest also.

Used a like barn door trolley system, I don't think we're gonna have weight issues although it takes more to roll it full of knives than it did empty. Go figure.

The ongoing challenge of fitting more and more toys into a given already too small room.
I guess I still have the plan A blade holder to fill and most of these were in there so I got room for MORE!

Think I'll take the evening off, warm up and play with sharp pointy things.

Finally, it seems the last 3 weekends and one of those a 4 dayer I accomplished absolutely nothing, nada.

I picked up the stuff yesterday evening and wanted to jump right in but it was dark and colder than heck. Cold today too but sun was out and although I can't feel my feet we did ok.

Actually I can't feel my feet much when it's hot so maybe it wasn't a major issue after all.

Man aint you slick! I love it. The karda and chakmak hook works perfect. Probably good to abandon the magnet trick. I have noticed ever since I hung a few of my blades up on my super maggots they collect the fillings as I sharpen them. I dont know if it is good or bad yet but you cant unmagnetize them? One good thing about hanging Khuks is most have a cho to keep them from sliding off. Overall that is ingenious Bawanna! All you need now is an extra button on your wheelchair you can push to open and close the Khukri gate! Thumbs up on that job! I love it!

Yup, I was able to utilize the cho on everyone except my Pen Knife an the cho was just not quite big enough to straddle the hook. I can thin one down a bit or it seem to hang find without. Also the Barong of course don't got a cho. It don't really fit but I cleaned the blade up and put he handle on so it's earned a place on the rack with the good stuff.
I'm kind of happy with myself. My son learned a little as he had to do all the overhead part, that was probably the biggest challenge of the whole deal.

I think it's gonna work ok. I figure if I'm able to add enough I got room to make another slide out, right behind this one. Don't let momma hear about that plan though, won't be pretty ya know?

Aww, my genuine Cossack Rifle? Guns really are my first love, but these sharp pointy things lately are really giving them a run for the money.

I got a Russian Nagant revolver too, crude as they come, you can dismantle the whole thing with a kitchen knife blade but I love it and surprisingly it shoots pretty good. Has about a 20# trigger but it's still fairly accurate.

I love weird different stuff.

What a clever idea. It looks terrific too. I'd copy your design in my "man cave" had I not ceded half of it as a baby playroom.

I saw these magnet panels in the Garrett Wade catalog that might work for something similar. They're about 30 bucks a whack and only 12" x 12", so you'd need one for each khuk at the least. But anything you see Garrett Wade sell can usually be found for less than half that price elsewhere.

That is really cool. I think the hooks are better-i hung rough ground blade blanks in the shop on a magnet bar and every last one rusted at the magnet's point of contact.
Also digging the long guns. Wish I still had my Finnish 91/30.

I never warmed to the magnet idea either. I was fearful of magnetizing the blade which apparently was a viable worry. I had planned to cover the magnet with something so it wasn't metal to metal but I don't think it would have been as secure as I'd like.
The hooks work fine, grab the Cho and get the proper angle and they are pretty solid. I'm happy with it. Too much blank space though, I gotta do a little filling in. Actually with my want list I better figure out a second panel behind that one or do another add on to the house and create a blade room.

Thanks for the kind words.

Hey nothing wrong with indestructible guns:) I've got a 91/31 that could take out a hamster the next county over. My goto truck rifle is a Chinese Type 53 which is a cheaper better built M44 and blasts a 18" fireball out the muzzle. I also have one of those cool 1895 Negant revolvers which really is about as interesting as obsolete hardware comes. To top it off I've got a Chinese T54 pistol which is basically a modernish T33 but chambered in 9mm instead of 7.62x25.

I like Eastern Bloc designs. Stupid rugged and cool as all get out:)

Looks like you did a fine job on that, and thats one hell of a man cave/work area. The khuks look perfect hanging there and all the gun stuff is making my heart race, im a big gun guy myself, and im digging that AR against your safe, actually all your rifles hanging are sweet as well. Is that SKS Russian or Chinese? I had two of Russians and was sorry the day I sold em.

"Is that SKS Russian or Chinese? I had two of Russians and was sorry the day I sold em."

Mines Russian too. The AR is actually a little piece of junk 22 replica thing somebody gave my son. Never shot it, its basically junk. I had a good Match Target Colt AR but like a dummy sold it right before the second to last panic.

I'm not a real AR fan, I like wood. I do want another before the next panic just cause.

I am saving up for an AR10 , but thats the last one I will buy, I too prefer the woods of yore
