Now ya see it, now ya don't

Man, I love that ornate Everest Katana you have as well. A chiruwa kat is on my bucketlist just under my long lusted after but never obtained Falcata.

The next time one of those pops up, I'm selling anything I have to in order to secure one. I really, really "need" a Falcata;)

I think there's a similar katana still available. It was in one of the recent dotds and not claimed yet.

Im with ya on that one Steely! Those are bad to the bone!

I did a little horse trading (no horses involved or injured in this transaction) with another member here and now have an Ultimate Fighter to hang on the knife rack. Second one I've ever held and it's quite the blade. First one was show and tell with Auntie. It's definitely a keep your wits about you and be careful knife especially putting in and out of the sheath being sharp on both top and bottom. I think it'll be very happy with it's companions.

Usual nice work by rajkumar.

Wow! Speaking of bad to the bone:thumbup: Thats awesome and a Rajkumar! You probably could chop up a horse with that! Chiruwa handle and bolsterless is very nice looking!! Congrats on the trade. I see theres a rivet on the sensitive part of the sheath and its probably needed. So its sharp all the way to the knee?

Well knee is a new term to me but yeah it's sharp right back to that rivet. I didn't notice that before but it's definitely needed. It's easy to forget that the top is sharp too. And it's really sharp too.

Wicked nasty cutting machine this one. It's growing on me. Brought it back to work with me today to continue the bonding process. Maybe they'll let me help open the mail or something.

I failed the first course of Khukri Dynamics 101. Ashamed to admit it and teach sent me back a grade to chopping school all over again! Bummer eh?:D I figure if I keep trying different models ill eventually pass on to Khuk Dyn. 102.

I'm still in Khukri Preschool myself. So far all I know is if you mess up you bleed, they are pointy and sharp.
I'm hoping to talk Auntie into being my mentor and personal instructor, although I learn tons here on this forum every day. My son even looked at some of the stickies and I got him a KLVUK the other day, his first. (don't tell him, I told him we missed out and Auntie would get us one maybe from the next batch). Kind of a little white lie and momma says a little white lie never hurt nobody.

Love the way you've displayed those kuks - mine are in my gun cabinet right now. (We were burglarized in September, so everything that's portable is locked up until I can figure out a more secure method of display.

Is that an Arisaka 99 above the Russian 44 at the bottom? I have the Arisaka my grandfather brought back from the Pacific in WWII. Pretty cool piece of history. Most people write them off as junk, but mine is made just as well as some Mausers I've seen.

I love the Soviet mindset about their hardware: overbuilt, overengineered, and it'll never die. I have a Finn Model 39 rifle, and it's kind of like a Cadillac-Monster-Truck. It's like Jake said about his 91/31: my 39 will hit soda cans at ridiculous ranges, and it makes me look like a better shooter than I really am.

Yup, good eye. I have a couple Arisaka's, had 3. That one is original unmessed with, others somebody had sporterized. One had the wire bi pod intact.

My room is pretty secure, not as secure as I'd like it. Still not impervious to neerdowells but better than most. I need another safe but not sure where I'll put it.

I hate keeping stuff in the safe as I like to see it and look at it. I'm debating hardening the room even further, maybe even a vault entry door. Bar the window better. A burglary to my room.....we that would break my heart.

Had a burglary many years ago in my first house a rental, lost a couple guns. I still hunt for them, carry the serial numbers in my wallet. I really hate bad guys.

all i can say is buy lots of dogs and let them patrol while you are gone, knock on wood I have never been burgled but I never leave house empty. I like to think I would not shoot a guy for stealing my stuff, but I really sadly think i would.

I still really dig that little antique chakmak with the Long Leaf, it's the coolest little thing. Never seen one shape like a khuk itself. I find myself playing with it all the time. Need to do a little gentle cleaning up one of these days.

yeah those long leaf blades are really great, i still think they have them available , though on almost all of mine there are no karda and chakma, but atlanta cutlery had awesome ( and still does) patch knives made from antlers , all pretty old looking that make great additions

The karda and chakmak didn't come with the Long Leaf (both gifts) but I'm certain they are the same era and a treasure in their own right in my eyes.

I used to look at AC and IMI from time to time but this forum is enough or perhaps too much of a temptation for a poor fella such as myself already. As I stated earlier privately my wife thinks I need help but your certainly not the one to discuss my issues with although the first step of a cure is to admit you have a problem in the first place and you're past that point, so maybe your really should be my mentor after all? I'm sure I better not run that idea past her, a beating with nothing to show for it (like a new knife) just isn't a good plan.

Those patch knives are really cool! They probably fit nicely in most of the Hi sheaths. I thought about a few of them myself but just havent done it yet. Ive been searching for the antique period correct C&k elsewhere but they are hard to search for because what would you call them? most people dont know what to call them...............................beep beep.......beep beep! Whooohooo! Mailman! Hey? Square box? No triangle box??? Hmmm..gotta go!

You might be ok! I got a square box a few minutes ago but with the good triangle box stuff inside. A good day!

My apprentice gave me a victorian karda (which I think from the grind was originally a chakmak) that's very similar- checkered butt, forged integral bolster- very nice little blade.image.jpg
Sorry for the lousy pic- off the grid up here.

Well today I messed with the wall again. I really like this peg board setup. It's easy to access everything, easy to move stuff around when needed.

I had a few new additions. The last one I'm happy to announce I got into the house and on the wall without being busted by the missus. Sad when a man has to sneak blades into his house ya know.

With the new additions I had to move Kal, he was guarding just fine but took up too much wall real estate so I moved him above on the closet wall. Better for him, now he can see out all the time and not have his nose up against the inside of the closet. That was neglectful of me and I apologized to him countless times.

Some upgrade photos

Kal in his new location. The photo to the left is a detectives grandfather taken in 1913, a 2 year old 1911 in hand. He gave me a copy.

The new 16" CAK that I snuck in under cover of darkness. Loose lips sink bawanna so mums the key word here. PULEEEEEze! This thing is a very nice length but an absolute beast. HEAVY! But I love it of course. I think I could easily chop my van in half if that urge ever struck me.

The gifted 24" Chitlangi/Gelbu Special combo by Tirtha, a perfect running mate to the 24" Sirupati. Thank you Auntie and Tirtha.

Really nice wood too. And I now know what all the hype is about the Chitlangi, the thing feels awesome in hand. Very deceiving and not the least bit unwieldly to me. Who knew I couldn't spell unweildly. Well heck cumbersome ya know not to be confused with cumberbund like james bond suits.

Still a little space left. I'll have to get help for the higher, the Long Leaf is as high as I can reach. Still got a bit of space down low and I'm sure I can put em closer together too. I'm not done yet. My wife would not agree but it ain't over till it's over.

Oh C'Mon Dangle that Chitlangi in my face again! mmmmmm! Thats such a sweet blade! Do it again please! I wasnt so lucky on slipping my Hanshee under my wifes nose. Im off today and was thinking i would go to town and do some business, mail some stuff and when I got there the post office was closed, governement offices closed, what the heck??? I found out it was MLK day! A holiday when my Hanshee was supposed to arrive? AArrrgh! Now my wife gets to receive it for me. Youre a lucky man Bawanna! Now when your next Khuk arrives shell be easy on ya cause you havent bought one for a long time:rolleyes: grats! That AK is awesome! Has a bit pointier shape than most reg AKs.
OH PS. Kal looks good up there!
