NP310 Micarta?

Anybody ever heard of a micarta called NP310? I found a local deal on it and Im wondering if its any good for handles.
 
NP310 is just a Norplex designation for their phenolic resin canvas micarta. There are variations that have different additives and attributes, some even have metal imbedded, so I would say try a piece and see how it does. It should be fine for a knife, as long as none of those additives make it any harder to work...
Try making your own. I started making my own a while ago and it is fairly simple and rewarding. Your first batches probably won't look great, but I have gotten to the point mine is almost impossible to tell from the manufacturer stuff I have...
