How many out there are NRA members? I believe whether you own a gun or not it is the best investment for freedom available.

Hey Rusty, what's with those people who won't join, or used to belong but quit? The argument goes something like: 'the NRA sells us out and provides great lifestyles for staff members.' These folks are usually the ones mad at Bill Ruger for giving us the 10 round mag. Poor Bill heard they were talking about 3 to 5 round mags...ended up negotiating to 10. Mistake, you bet, -we won't be fooled again- but to condemn the man is unfair.

I'm a member. I even wear my "I'm the NRA" hat on my campus. I sure get a lot of dirty looks. :D

Voting member.
The NRA frequently pisses me off - the dunning letters for the "free" unsolicited videotape being the latest debacle - but there is no substitute for their political clout.

I'm with Berk. At least I also get to benefit from their range facility at the HQ building in Fairfax, VA. It's the best indoor range I've ever been on, though I hate it when folks bring rifles (up to .458 Win Mag is permitted).

I'm a Life Member. I've been a member for about 22-23 years now. I was an annual, then three year, then five year, etc. until I finally said "screw this" and became a Life Member. At least they don't bug me to renew!

The NRA is the biggest and most powerful. But they don't defend everybody's freedoms equally. Some types of guns seem to get more effort while others get written off. And sometimes it does seem like the NRA is too quick to make a compromise but there is no way to ever be sure about something like that. I would advise someone to join both the NRA and the _real deal,_ the GOA. They don't make deals at all! http://www.gunowners.org/

yeah thats a good point tulsamal

it always burns me when compromises are made when it comes to freedom. Especially when the communists always want to “renegotiate” after they get what they wanted.

but i'd hate to think were we would be now w/o the NRA
