Alright, well I think I'm going to grab one of these then. Thanks for the replies guys. 2brothers, you post was particularly helpful. I'm still wondering though, as was previously mentioned, how people's pockets and the newer, rubbery TracTec get along?

If it really is an issue, you can loosen the pocket clip by bending it out ever so slightly. It's really not an issue.

Glad you went with it, you'll like it a lot.

^that is what I was referring to when I said "grip tech." the official term is "trak tec" and I probably spelled that wrong. I don’t know if it was ever made with grip tape (this is what is on a skateboard -it is basically sand paper with a sticky side). Sorry for all the confusion.

Yes the trak tek eats you pants. I partially destroyed one pocket before I stopped carrying it. If that is a deal breaker for you, you should save your money or maybe buy a newer model with G-10. Since there are so many knives for us to choose from it is kind of silly to buy one just because it is a good deal, why not just buy your absolute favorites? -that is what I realized after impulse buying an NRG 2.

That said, it is still a very great, capable knife.

I have never tried that -sounds like a great idea:thumbup:

It really is one of the best deals out there right now.

The Trac-Tec inlay is not like the old stuff that was used on the Blurs.
It is the new stuff (same as the new Blurs) and is much more of a rubbery texture.
Not near as abrasive as the old.

I carried a Blur today and wore Levi's without a problem.
Depending on the thickness of your pockets it might help to slightly bend the clip out a bit as mentioned above.

I'm waiting for one in carbon fiber and ZDP-189 to come out so I can add it to my other three.

Hint Hint Kershaw. :D

That would be great combination.. :) hopefully without the inserts.
