Lol I used my NO for preparing the bird for cooking, and took pics of the entire process. Was going to use a BM but thought it might spook the bird into rising from the dead and flying away
After the meal, I used my ever-present Basic 7 to halve the bird (1/2 of the remains went home with visiting family). Splitting the breastbone and spine/ribs only took a bit of leaning on the 7's blade and it popped right through them. Using the tip of the blade, slitting cartilege in the joints went smoothly. After the splitting job was done the blade had lost its shaving edge for about one-third its length. It only took about a dozen strokes on the Sharpmaker white stones to bring it back very nicely.
But I think the 7 was real disappointed that it didn't get a more rigorous workout.
