Nuisance Small Bird Removal

I was thinking the same thing as Sevorius. Sticky rat traps will hold them and you will most likely catch more than 1 on each trap

I've seen visual scares used in lumber sheds to keep out birds. One was a large owl-like face with big eyes. The lumberyard said the key was to move them around occasionally.

Try baited rat traps. I set one up to get the squirrel on the deck. Minutes after setting the trap I got a Whisky Jack instead, trap down with landing gear up. This bird is about the size of bluejay. Got the squirel later with the 22.

I take out nuisance birds in my neighborhood with a blowgun. It's almost totally silent, and works like magic. It would be tricky inside a warehouse though. The distance would probably be a bit too much. I like Joezilla's idea with the bowl of bird seed and mousetraps.

sticky paper mouse trap with some bird feed on it would be the easy/lazy method. sticky traps are not considered humane by some people, I'm not really sure why though.

If you're immediately making a shot, they are fine. The inhumane part comes when they are left out as traps. I've seen mice caught in them after a day. Still alive, but with skin ripped off from trying to get loose.

I used to have to do the same thing with those sticky traps. I hate them....mice are crying while in the traps and ripping there entrails out trying to get away. I'd much rather miss one here and there with traditional mouse or rat traps than put down paper.

There are alot of good ideas in this thread. I like the netting idea and the pellet gun.

sticky traps up high are a not effective and labour intensive, gonna need a BIG ladder to put them down and pick them up. I like clean kills and don't agree with glueboards and in public areas it is a huge no-no, PETA and the like will be on you.

I've seen recordings of raptor calls work pretty well to scare small birds away. All the cases I can think of have been outside, but it might work to chase the birds out of the building.
