Wow! Looks like pinecone and perhaps a top layer of some kind of bone, all recessed into some beautiful micarta. @Garth Reckner can you by chance tell me what kind of bone is used here? Also, the micarta may be tan micarta, but it kind of looks like antique westinghouse micarta.

Wowzer - Yeah this is painful - not even a ding yet, this is painful and hopeful. But what I'm really seeing that I like is all that gleaming shine of polished up Infi ~ that is impressive all by itself.
 
I have enjoyed each "grab bag" type experience I have participated in!

These are just phenomenal!

That pine cone grex is amazing.
 
Here's what I got. Very hard to take a decent pic inside right now on my phone and it's raining like crazy so apologies on the pic quality. I have no idea what the first one is made of. Looks like a pine cone but really dark unlike zmbhntr's. The second looks like some stabilized and dyed wood with teal liners. The green color is not near as pronounced in person and the handles look really good.

got some gator tooth in epoxy matrix in there near the top...jackpot! :cool:

Yeah, I just found this on it...looks like something got a little off on the grinding around the talon holes. :( It's on both sides. There is a slight issue on my other one too. Not near as bad, but still noticable. Anyone else seeing that?

*****UPDATE***** In typical Busse fashion, out of the blue I received a call today from Bossman himself to discuss the pics I posted. He said they were proof that they drink on the job :D and told me to send them back and he'd personally take care of it. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Appreciated the call Jerry!

They have kind of a meltdown treatment. I wouldn't worry about.
 
They are all looking pretty amazing so far. Custom Shop really hit a home-run on all of them so far!!!!

Ding Ding Ding! The most impressive part of this thing is the finish on the blade itself, simply incredible. I have a couple satin blades, and a SR custom shop satin, but they don't compare to the gleam of this blade. the CBT is very fine, it's quite an impressive piece of steel work. I am of the opinion that even if you wrapped electrical tape around dry rotted wheelbarrow handles it's a great looking blade where the business gets done. As for the handle work - it's fkn' crazy looking and that's what I was hoping for so at least for me? no need for worrying about the no-whiner clause :D

Wow!!! These handles are works of art!!! Talk about getting your creative trousers on in the Crab Shack!! You fellas are true artisans.
 
Those are some incredible looking handles. I wish I could have seen these before I placed an order for the FMV14.
