Well i hit 3000 posts and did not even notice . I remember when i first started here i was all excited when i hit 100. the longer your around the less the number means. One thing i have allways wondered is if new knife makers look at the post count and say well he has a lot of posts so he must know what he is talking about. the more i post the less i know

Judging by one or two of my friends that are compelled to speak just for the sake of speaking, I would have to surmise that people are born with a finite number of words, albeit a very large number, that you are allowed to use up and the words you have remaining represent one's intelligence. At least it seems that the more they talk the stupider they sound. :)

I'll shut up now... Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have said that...

:)

Absolutely not... at least not in my case.

Reading this sub forum for the period of a year or so should clearly show the difference between those sharing their expertise vs those parroting the generally accepted knowledge collective.

Funny thing is even though I am almost to 1000 most of my posts are still questions or atta boys for you guys that are makin dead sexy knives!

You're going to pass me at this rate. I've been on here for 10 years, youve been here for 3 years. I bet you cant catch Kieth Montgomery.:D

I love talking to people here, i consider all the knife makers on here my friends.

I look at the post count and sometimes wonder if that time could have been used better. However, I have also learned alot from other people, and others have helped me with my own questions. Another thing is, its interesting to hear about the perspective from others in other countries on a full range of subjects.

As for post counts...I think it just takes a while to know who to really pay attention to. Post counts don't really tell anything except for who talks the most. :) I look more at the join date. Generally, if you've been around this site a while, you've probably got a good handle on things based on all the great information that comes through. Not always, though. Just look at me. I've been around for almost 7 years, and I don't really know what the heck I'm talking about most of the time. You really have to just read the boards a while, and then you'll figure out who the old lobo wolfs are. I've got a few of 'em pegged, I think :D.

Congrats on 3000, JT. Not trying to rain on your parade ;).

I don't really care about post count any more, i mean its cool that it keeps track but what really matters is the friendship and knowledge we share.

Now why did I think of "IG" when you said that? He's the original blabber finger.

You don't want to know what he does with some of those fingers. :barf:
