Number on Vesuvius blade?

Can anyone tell me what the number on the blade of my new Vesuvius represents? It says "815". Is that a model number? Does that mean this one is number 815 out of a series?

The first 1000 or 1200 knives made of new model by Spyderco are numbered. Your knife is #815.
