Numbered Tenacious?

I walked into my local dealer and picked up a Lava that I had waited on for a year.

At the same time I saw a Tenacious with the number 037 on the blade. I had seen numbered Spydercos on the net before on early production runs. I asked to see another model to check if it was also numbered. This was the only one they had, so I took it.

Can anyone tell me, did I score?

What you purchased was a Collectors Club numbered Tenacious. Some dealers have one or more numbers in their own name, just to be sure they'll get at least that many of all the limited production pieces. Other times, the collector who owns the number will have arrangements with their dealer regarding pieces they don't really want. So, you have a knife that can very easily be documented as being from the first run of Spyderco's first knife made in China. That, some day, may add to the value - or it may not - only time will tell. At the very least, it will not be worth any less than an un-numbered one.

Thanks Deacon. I guess I did score, to my way of thinking at least. Sentimental value.... priceless :D
