How do you tie these things?!? I have mastered the sinnet bracelet... but yours is (or appears to be) a different knot.

It's driving me crazy! (Of course, that's not even a drive, just a short putt!)

Quickly as I can! :p

Yes, it's a different knot than the sinnet. I came up with this a few years ago, gave them out to friends and such. I'd be willing to help you with other knots I tie but I'm kinda guarded about these. Sorry

A couple of people who have figuered it out, the other's bought them.

Nice Rotring :) Rollerball or fountain?

Anyways, I really love how you've tied the nuts inside them, though I think they might be too large to look good on my Sebenza.

edit: Actually, I think a black rollo (I'm assuming that's the 3rd picture?) with a beadblasted Ti nut to match a large Micarta Sebenza would look awesome. I didn't see the smaller ones at first. How do you actually put them through a lanyard hole? Also, is it easy for the nut to swing around and contact the handle of the knife? I'm afraid it might scratch up my handle.

Not sure which Rotring I have both. Great line of pens, my only problem is the fountain pen could use a softer tip.

Yes, the third pic are the rollo's. The nut do spin around on the inside. Also the knot is large enough to cushion the nut.

As for fitting though the lanyard hole, 550 is a bit too large to fit (my sm Seb). The Glo-cord does. I can pull out some of the cord, which should fix the problem.

Thought I would add a pic so you can see what they look like on a knife.

Hmm..so I can't fit the lanyard myself, I have to send the knife to you?

Also, I'm assuming the Rollo is about as long as the other one's in that picture of the knives, is there any way to shorten this so there is not as much cord between the end of the handle and the knot-nut-knot?

I have a large Sebenza, so maybe the lanyard hole diameter is slightly larger?

What is the last knife in that picture? Almost looks like a Chris Reeve custom or a William Henry..

The last knife in my pic is a proto Atwood Solar Arc. One of my favorite users.

As for fitting a lanyard on you can do it you self but it takes a bit of work. You'll have to thread the loop though the hole and then thread the big know though the loop. What you'll have is a larks head knot attaching the fob to the knife. I'll see it I can scare up a pic. As for your Lg Seb having a bigger hole, I don't know? Measure it and I'll see if there is a differance. Like I said I can remove a core thread or two and you'll have no problems.

I can tie these things any size, but remember that they will have to be long enough to fit the head...

As for sending the knife to me? I don't think you'll need to. Or if you live close enough we could meet up and I can do what ever you'll need. Where in the fine state of CT do you live?

I live near the border of Mass, but I could probably do it myself. What is the diameter of the hole on your small? I'll go measure mine.

edit: Ok, my hole is about 3/16ths or .5 cm

The hole on the Sm Seb is 3/16 ish. It's a bit of a tight fit.

If you'd like to catch up sometime I'd be willing to meet you half way. After work or something.

Hey Saberman--does that Nutbanger that you show laced onto the Waved Delica facilitate the wave opening? I've found that sometimes the knife alone doesn't provide enough purchase for a panic grab.

I've changed the scales on my Delica to the digital green color, sort of a sage. I don't suppose you carry that digi-green para-cord? PM me with a quote for a two nut and a three nut version, or post your response here. Thanks.

P.S.--I hope that the Nutbanger doesn't slip over the end of the knife and interfere with the blade opening. I've had experience with my own Reeves-style coil knot slipping outward and looping over the closed blade spine.

TIZWIN,

Yes, the nutbanger does help with getting to and opening my delica. You need to set the knot (the Mathew Walker) that keeps the loop from being too losse so that it will flip over the end of the knife. If you pull your Hangman's Noose tighter it can't loop over the end and lock the knife.

You'll have a PM comming soon...

One of your 3-nut NutBanger's would have come in handy at yesterdays family get together for my wifes, brother-in-laws HEAD.
