Is opening the knife with your thumb as easy as chewing bubble gum ????

Read my my post about cuts on my thumb--try to be a little less critical!!

Yes, the action on this knife is real smooth and i'm pritty sure my 2 year old grandson can release the lock. :)

I'm not sure about the cuts on your thumb but it sounds like you should clean them and put a bandaid on them. :)/COLOR]

Looks like there is a dark stripe on the handle as well as on the blade !! Are these just reflections? If so I'm equally impressed with the mirror finish u must have put on it !!!!!

Does being sarcastic to a forum member give you a lot of pleasure ???

Yes I expect an sarcastic answer...for a change it would be nice not to get

one from you.

I know we are both great people and can get along without your sarcasm.

I hope this is not directed towards me!!! I wasn't being sarcastic!!

Looks like alot of time went into that one! I don't care for how the crispness of the ginds was sacrificed. They are too soft, IMO. Hopefully you didn't heat the blade up while polishing and ruin the temper.

Regardless, it's too bad your friend can't enjoy it. But I am sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to have a worked over Ummi like that.

The lines were not sacrificed at all !! and the blade NEVER was past warm !!

Polishing S30V thats been hardened is not like polishing aluminum where you can move the metal with compounds....95% of the work must be done by hand where the hollow part of the grind is done with a sanding block the same radius as the wheel that ground the blade and the flats are done on a precision ground piece of stock...thats how the grind lines stay "crisp".

This blade is a satin polish that required very little time on the buffer....my edc is high polished and the temper on it also was not compromised .

I really like it. It looks really cool. Where do you find the blue o-rings in the correct size? Some would look great on my Zaan.

I find chewing gum is a tad more difficult than opening the knife with my thumb. The bubble gum usually loses its flavor in about less than 15 minutes, and it's making me difficult to keep chewing something made out of rubber without any flavors. within an hour, the bubble gum usually hardens, and it's making my jaw muscle sore chewing it further more.

However, opening the Umnum with my thum whether it's in 15 minutes or 1 hour period, will not get more difficult. The blade just slides open as smooth as it was when I first recieved it.

:D :D :D
