Hehe, been a while since I posted. Been real busy beating the stuffing out of hot metal. =)

Nuts. Bolts. Screws. Good-golly-googly-goo! Man, I got so many. When you are in the trade (industrial mechanic), you sure do tend to collect a ton of these. I got two 5-gallon pails full of various nuts, washers, lock-washers, sheetrock screws, nails, rivets, wood screws, set screws, wire nuts, fuses, you NAME IT!

Damn stuff is just too valuable to throw away, but too time-consuming to sort out. I got all this load of fasteners already sorted and categorized into nice little bins, but all this other batch just waiting in the wings to get sorted and divided and categorized and channellled and routed and... ARRRGGGHHH!

SO!

Should I give it the boot? Should I let my nephew sort it? Time is money to a guy like me, but my old Yankee practicality kicks in whenever I get the urge to leave those buckets at the recycling center.

AM I MAD?

*skulks off into a dark corner*

this is the origin of child labor laws:D yep! put the boy to work at a $1.00 a hour!

Yeah, what Rhino said! I have some buckets of the same, would never part with the stuff! Buck an hour? THAT MUCH?

what is this stuff used for. Handle decoration. Making into knives or melting in damascus( Still not sure how that stuff is made) I dont forge if that wasnt obvious. I just wanted to know who this stuff is used. I am still learning all the terminology and what is what and how to stuff easier.

Jdaniels, Stuff breaks down to Selected Trappings Unsorted Foraged Foundlings. You can't do without that bucket of stuff that sits in your shop. It's the bucket you stub your toe on and the kids dump on occasions. You need a nut, bolt, screw, you have it! One less trip to the store for one. Unless your spouse is in one of her honey-do moods. THEN you have to go to the store! So you see, the bucket is a great escape plan if you don't want to get stuck at home. And yes, the bucket is handy when you need some hidden handle pins or a shop bolt. It's also too heavy for your wife to throw at you. I wonder what a handfull of that stuff would look like forged into a blade, too.
