Very nice. I like the color fade.
Many thanks

I've always preferred the Slimline type Trapper to a conventional one- more useful for me and it's a pattern, as a non-American that reminds me of the classic French Laguiole: compact, great in the hand and a good long blade.

This Schatt & Morgan sports a sabre grind which is unusual but not really the most suited to its function.

Thanks, Will

A favorite pattern of mine. The 293Y on the right is one I bought new in the mid ‘70s, and carried for decades.

I only have two Case Slimlines, the rest are Schrade. Well, the lower left is a Primble Belknap, but I believe it’s a Schrade Walden 294 in disguise.8E524627-379A-45E9-A6E3-48EEA425C774.jpeg92B61F3E-ADFC-41D9-9AB5-5B93967BE563.jpeg
Never handled a 48 GEC, but it sure looks inspired by Schrade.

I’ve mentioned this in other threads before, but I found an old Schrade catalog online in which every single variant on this frame was called a Serpentine Jack.

Nice ! 👍

Putting the swedge on the secondary teally classes it up.

Great idea for this thread C cutchu
I’m a fan of the Slimline frame no matter the maker. I’ve carried and used the Case 048 pattern as well as the GEC 48 version and find them to ride well in the pocket and serves as a great overall carry. When asked, Bill Howard claimed absolutely no connection between the GEC and Case version…purely coincidence. Here’s a pic of one of my single blade, big clip favorites from 2015.

Somebody should have asked Bill about a Schrade /48 connection.
These look great! That big blade reminds me of an old Cattaraugus folding hunter.
Indeed and it's what it was patterned after 👍
