Hello all. Hope the end of winter is relatively mild for everyone. If this is an inappropriate post here, please move or enlighten me.
The reason for this post is to solicit potential demonstrators for the NWBA's (Northwest Blacksmith Association) once a month meetings the 3rd or 4th Saturday of most months (9/12). I've recently become in charge of what we call the "Mentoring Center" and we've recently settled down and have a permanent position at the Longview, WA fairgrounds. Normally, it's a 3-4 hour demonstration in the morning with an open forge session in the afternoon. There's a (IMO) generous stipend for the morning and a budget for materials. There's a fair number of members who have expressed interest in knife making, and I could see someone doing 2-3 sessions for those members who don't have their own forges.
Also, you don't have to be a member of the NWBA to be a demonstrator.
If interested, send me a note and we can discuss details out of the forum.
Thank you
~billyO
