The snap strap was orig going to be short, but I had difficulty getting the pin to release with a short piece of strap. Note on the pin side of the strap is a long pull tab. It is this tab that makes the strap 'stand out' on the other side when snapped. The pin is secure, so the knife won't go anywhere, and the long pull makes it easy to remove the pin and release the knife.
The design is sound, but the execution needs some help! Maybe if I used something other than a copper rivet for the pin? The head of the rivet is good sized, and makes for a big stitch area. If I could make those distances smaller,...
So, on the carving, I only went over it once. Should I be making one deeper cut, or should I go over the carving multiple times?
