O-1knives007.jpg

I just finished this knife up this morning. Haven't made a sheath yet, but I'm thinking of a diagonal mounted full flap. The knife is O-1 with Osage orange scales.

I'm still trying to get a GOOD pic. and have decide that my camera is the biggest problem.

That looks like a nice knife. I'm also a lousy photographer but I've found that knife pictures come out better if I take them outside in the shade with no flash.

First pic was out side, over cast, but bright. Second pic was is side surrounded with lights. Both are sorry a-- pics.
The blade is 2 7/8", 6 1/2" over all. small enough for a neck rig if I diced to go that way.

I love the small gracefully curved handle, looks like it would melt right into your hand, good size for everyday chores. Chris

It looks like a very nice little knife, but you're right - your camera absolutely sucks. I'd like to see a better picture of this knife, so remember to repost when you resolve your camera issues (or have a friend take a picture - hey that's it, send it to me and I'll take one. :D - can't guarantee the return, though - problems with Canada Post, of course.

I really am a better craftsman than a photographer. I'm finishing these knives up in the batch. all are O-1, 1/8" thick 2 1/2" blades. Handle scales are horn, walnut, and a bone I took from the dog.
I've really got to figure out how to get a better pic. I have 14 more knives in the finishing stages.

Hey bro I think being able to make such great knives as those more than makes up for you being lousy at taking pics !!!

does your camera have a macro mode? it might be of some assistance.
oh yeah, and nice looking knives.. i think ;)

Part of the problem could be that I don't even know what a "macro mode" is.
I have not quite caught up with the digital world yet.
I hope it has an auto-focus, as there sure isn't one I can find..

There should be a little button with a picture next to it that looks like a flower on your camera. That will turn on the macro mode.

A slight improvement. Still time for a better camera. To put hours in to mirror polishing and not be able to capture it, ouch.
This handle scale is a bone that my big lazy dog had lost interest in untill I wanted it.

Mike, I really like the bone handled one. Love the shape.

It almost looks like the camera is focusing just past the knife. Try holding the button halfway down, then moving the camera back until the knife appears to be in focus.

Thanks to all for the assist on The camera. I have picked up a few good tips. Add that to a tripod and an upgraded camera and I may be able to post some decent pics of the next batch of knives. As I said I have 14 moor in the finishing stages.

Still not so good. upper left knife has cow horn scales with red and White spacers.
Upper left knife has Osage orange scales, the one under it has walnut scales. Big difference in color. The red's seam to brown in these pics.
