Nyala blade shape decision

IDK about the Nyala, but the Small Sebenza 21 Insingo is pretty much the best light EDC/food prep folder there is. Been thinking of getting one for a long time to compliment my drop point Nyala at camp.

Eh. I am still not completely sold on the insingo blade. If I did go with that blade design on the sebenza 21 it would be the large. I have a small plain jane 21 with the clip point blade and it works great for everything. If I ever go large 21 it will be a insingo with micarta probably.

I have one Insingo and 2 Drop Point Nyala's, in my opinion the Insingo would be FAR behind many other knives in the field dressing department.
I find it just a little too pointy for that delicate work around the stuff that you don't wanna puncture, could you do it, no doubt, but would you have to be MUCH more careful than if you used the drop point blade-I think so.
I also find, that for me, the belly of the Drop Point works better skining an animal.

I've used the Insingo to fix dinner a few times and it works much better in that role, although, the blade is pretty thick and it doesn't slice as well as you'd think because of the thickness and hollow grind- it's one knife that I'd love to see CRK put the high hollow grind on.
Conversely you'd be hard pressed to find a better camp folder than a Large 21 Insingo.

I agree completely. I am ordering my drop point Nyala today. :)
 
UPDATE:

I ordered a PVD coated Nyala drop point and then heard about CRK switching back to stone wash steel. I then cancelled that order and going to have to wait for a stone wash to show up in stock. I am still very excited and was not thrilled about the dark color coated blade.
 
If you don't want to wait send me a pm, I could let one of mine go.
I also have some Kydex for it too.
