The article and the rest of your post have precious little to do with switchblades.
 
The post was just being sarcastic. I find it troubling how laws in Cities like new york make it a felony to carry weapons such as switchblades but they dont seem to bother when its tourists spending money here and going to see the statue of liberty.

God forbid I get pulled over driving with an OTF knife on my seat. Keep in mind Ive never been arrested in my life . Id be sure to spend a night downtown and probably fined and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

In addition I find it amusing how much pepper spray they confiscate when it is illegal to even carry the tiny cans on you any where in the metro area and God forbid you use it to fend off an attacker you might wind up in jail as well.

That article is a complete joke. Firstly, it's from Daily Mail, which is is publication barely more reputable than the Weekly World News. Compounded by the fact that it's British, and we all know how ignorant and backwards the UK is when it comes to knives. Finally, look at the picture of knives. Obviously it's just some stock photo, and not a picture of anything confiscated at the Statue of Liberty. I mean, there's maybe 2 pocket knives, several kitchen knives, a bigass pair of scissors, some gardening shears, a crowbar, and 2 wing corkscrews. Who the hell is bringing wing corkscrews and gardening sheers to the Statue of Liberty? Nobody.

Actually it was published in the Daily News and was discussed all over the local talk shows in NYC the other day thats where I heard about it.

I still see almost no relevance to switchblades other than the fact that they'd be one of the myriad of 'weapons' that could be confiscated along with kebab skewers and hair scissors. Did you post this in the food and personal grooming forums too?
The article doesn't even mention the word 'switchblade' and the stiletto you mentioned appears to be a non-auto.

Im guessing a 3Ft stiletto of some type.

perhaps a 10 foot OTF microtech with the american flag painted on the handles
