My first try. Stock whip, 6 foot for the body, 18" handle with the fall it is 9 foot overall. I got realy confused when I first started researching on the size. I gess the fall dosn't count when measuring.
If you can see the little white strings they are constrictior knots I tied when I needed a break.

Very nice, I like the handle plaiting and rear knot. What did you use for your cracker, paracord guts?? I know some guys who use that, but I prefer bailing twine.

Thanks. That pinapple knot on the handle took me longer to tie than the rest of the whip took to make.
The cracker is para cord guts.
Foegot to mention the core is loaded for 6' with bb's

Clearly the dog was unaware of the ferocious reputation all members of the weasel family are known for. Good thing for the dog I was there to keep things from getting out of hand.



Whips are something I think most guys have thought about getting into... Because they're sweet! Myself included. But it's one of those things that I don't know where to begin with.

Honestly, I dont know. Tyler Blake would know a lot more on that ( I think, hes been making whips MUCH longer than I have). Or you could watch Bernie make one. Cat or nine tails How-To
Bernie is one of the ones I first started watching make whips (thank you YouTube). Hes just so easy to understand and follow along. He doesn't show some how to plait, but just scroll though his other videos where he explains how to plait.

I've never made a Cat before...Bernie's one of the best whipmakers in the world, so you can't go wrong there. I think if I was to make one I'd treat it like nine very thin bullwhips or snakewhips, depending on whether you want a stiff handle or not, and bind the grips together with some plaiting over that.

I got a cheap leather whip years ago, about 7'. Lots of fun in the woods, not a great toy for EDC in New York City.
