The name of this knife is the AKITA. The AKITA was used a fighting dog in medieval times. It is now used as a police, guard and family companion and can be aggressive when provoked.
This knife has a cutting edge grind profile to .33 of an inch with the tip at .48 of an inch. The grind profile is to leave a razors edge along the cutting surface with a little more meat in the tip for added strength. The cutting edge is 3 ¾” with an over all blade length of 6 inches.
Steel: o-1 Tungsten vanadium tool steel RC 60.
Thickness: 3/16
Width at the widest point” 2”
Bolsters: bolster is made of 316 stainless steel that has a hand rubbed satin finish to add contrasts. The bolsters are dovetailed both the front and rear.
Handle material: is curly maple that has a turquoise stone inlay.
The sheath is made from 8/10 oz American saddle leather with a rattlesnake inlay. The sheath is 10” long x 4” at the widest point and is 1” thick at the thickest point. The sheath loop is made of 13/15-ounce saddle skirt leather and the back of the sheath and belt loop is hand tooled with a basket weave pattern.

I'm no fan of "americanized" tantos---that is, I wasn't until I saw this one. :thumbup:
